    Re: Das Uberhypo Sign-ups

...lemme get this straight Mark...you're doing house robots and an arena for a hypo...when do you expect to use these house robots and arena? They're usually used in full size battles to add flavour, I have no idea how you're going to work them into a hypothetical (ahich I understand to be a 'what would have been' list of winners and plain results)

Joey, would you like me to give you an example of one of the possible Das Uberhypo battles?

...I think I need one to help me visualise how all this would work :P

          Re: Das Uberhypo Sign-ups

Example: CYRILIUM MACH 3 AND THERMIDOR 2 won their fight after Cyrilium shoved Brutus Maximus into Sir Killalot's CPZ, where Killalot tore it up, and Thermidor 2 pressed the pit release button, and shoved The Creature down the pit.

Being a hypo from the start at least gives it a chance of actually being finished

True, but this is, per se, and advanced hypo, which is a hypo with a bit more detail in the fights.

                Re: Das Uberhypo Sign-ups

Okay, since this isn't working out, I'm going to give everyone 1 more week to enter this. If nobody else does, I'm going to fill the open spots up with Realies and my own robots.

                  Re: Das Uberhypo Sign-ups

There are a few reasons for your lack of entrants, Mark...

                  1) People remember what you did before and aren't so keen to enter.

                  2) Fanfic is rather inactive right now, as most of the vapourboteers are taking, or are studying for, their exams.

                  3) We prefer to see fights rather than results. It would please us more to see you write improved fights than just giving up and doing only hypothetical tournaments.

So what I'm trying to say is: be more patient. I opened sign-ups for C&B2 about 3 months before line-ups actually were posted. I believe the same have happened with PTT, VFT, and NSBFL.

Also, entering your own bots in your own tournament is considered unfair, unless there is somebody co-hosting it with you. (this happened with me and AJ, but FVAL was epic fail, so... XD)

If you insist on entering your own bots, I will withdraw. Please, have some patience, Mark. It's not hard...

                    1: I understand.

2: Good point, however since I'm homeschooled, I'm one of the few people who doesn't have to do that.

3: You know what? You're right... If there's a good battle in the lineups, or a rivalry, or something big and destructive, I'll make a nice detailed battle about it.

I understand, but well... Patience is not one of my greater strengths.

                      Re: Das Uberhypo Sign-ups

                      1) If you truly understood why people were angry at you, you wouldn't be doing this sorta thing in the first place.

                      2) Again, had you understood why people can't reply, you wouldn't be doing this. It's the wrong time of the year to be starting a major tournament...not like it's not been done before, but still...

                      3) People don't like to see any hypothetical results. Hypos should only be done if there is no viable alternative. I only hypo'd the rest of C&B3 because I had absolutely no time on my hands, and had lost interest in that particular place in the tournament. Another example: Steve had to hypo what was left of PTT5 because he was interested in other stuff, and also his schooling was getting in the way. In other words, a completely hypothetical tournament is pretty much meaningless to most of us. I'd start over with an actual tournament, if I were you.

                      4) Learn patience! Truth be told, I am not really a patient person myself (having a slight mental disability, but you knew that by reading past posts...I hope), but I've found quite a bit over the past few years dealing with Fanfic (and other FRA stuff), having to cope with its cons. If I can do it, so can you.

I'm not trying to be mean, Mark, I'm trying to wake you up and make you see the big picture. It's spring, people can't be arsed to enter, and especially if you're doing a hypo tourney. Make an actual tournament, or don't make one at all.

Okay. Leo or Kane or some admin/mod: Please lock this, delete this, and throw it in the Thames River.

I'll lock the topic, but we are not that keen on deleting stuff. Besides, it may give you some place to reflect when you jump in head over heels into another tournament.
