I think Id like to propose a team up with Paul here. Id also like to say I believe Heliosa would be somewhat overweight at this point
Basically the spikes should help with getting in under Heliosas skirts, and if I get in behind the front and in around the sides of the T I effectively have it trapped. From there, lift, crush, and feed to either the pit or Paul. :P
Supreme (5) vs. S.D.F vs. What Did I Do Last Night at the Bar?
Oh...bollocks. :P I get the feeling once S.D.F. splits tactics will become irrelevant with five robots running around, so...go for anyone, try and flip Supreme and ram WDIDLNATB?, switching roles every so often, and hope to get one of them down or out. This should be fun.
Gabriel IV (13) vs. Jack in the Box vs. Warrior SKF
The Enjoy The Violence bit is a subtitle, I prefer just Gabriel IV incidentally :P
I shall be teaming with good ol Steve and going against good ol Ben and his realie. Flip it around a lot and get it down or out
Envy (15) vs. The Final Cut vs. Hot Sauce
Oooh, this should be good, two Envys against a spinner :P
The new Envy (according to Shane) is built like a tank, the all around Hardox should be able to withstand the disc on Final Cut. Therefore, I shall go for it and flip it a lot, hopefully getting Chez in on the act, until it ends out of the arena or down the pit.
Sheer Heart Attack 2 (14) vs. Ge5orce vs. Lights! Camera! Traction!
As futile as it will prove, drive into the other robots and push them. Attempt a pitting where I can as well, and try to stay alive :P
Axeon 3.0 (12) vs. Mudskipper vs. Ringwraith
The jumping should allow me to avoid the twin weapons...in theory...hopefully...maybe. In any case, I shall go for Axeon purely because I stand to take less damage from it, and hope Richard wants to join in. Make like a mudskipper and try to disc and/or pit someone.
Axe to Fall (24) vs. Still Hurting vs. Visioned
Axe To Fall...mmm, polycarb. Start in reverse to allow time to get the disc spun up, and then turn and attack both, aiming primarily for Axe To Fall though, and flip/rip/tear/otherwise damage the other two machines. POWER! RAAH!
Knyfe (1 vs. Stiltskin vs. Hypertension MK3.5
Uh...Knyfe has an anti-flipper setup, so I think both of us flippers teaming up would make sense. Basically flip Knyfe out at the earliest possible opportunity, and then play with Hypertension a bit
The very best of luck to everybody, Andy, Ben, Paul, Steve, Matty, Marti, Chezza, Rich and Dan. And especially to Liam, heres hoping for a good tourney.
HEAT A
ROUND 1
1) Assegai VS PsycloniZer (1) VS VENUS FLY TRAP
Thanks a bundle, Liam.
I doubt Ill get a good grip on the champ with those long hammers, so Ill target Assagai instead. Im not too worried about the weaponry, but as its a rammer, Ill err on the side of caution. Aim for the sides, snag the wheels and try to gobble it up.
If worst comes to worst, try reversing into PsycloniZer to stop the spinner, charge underneath and either snag the wheels or the bars supporting the hammers. Lift, run, Pit.
2) Haldux 2.0 VS Macbeth VS Razer (17)
Ill pick Haldux to be crunched and pitted.
I am spoilt for choice here, as I feel that out of the three machines I am the stronger. I could either go for the weak(ish) armouring of Haldux or attack the srimech arms of Razer, allowing Haldux to come in on the attack.
I have decided to go for.... option B!
Go into the arena upside down, allowing the spinning bar to be on top. Focus my attacks on Razer, keepign the front facing him at all times. If Razer gets underneath me, drive further onto the wedge, allowing the spinning bar to make contact with the sides of the crusher and therefore damaging the srimech arms. Quickly drive off before Razer has a chance to being that slow(ish)crushing arm into play. If Haldux does attempt to attack me, a swift thwack to the 20mm HDPE armouring should make it think twice. . Team up, Ben?
This looks like it is going to be an amazing tournament, Liam. I can see at least 20 machines who could potentially win the whole thing, and not necessarily the obvious ones!
Like Venus Fly Trap, I am also going to be targeting Assegai. PsycloniZer has given armour stronger than 7mm Titanium a battering before. So as usual, spin up and deliver as many attacks as possible. The hammers should not only deliver shock damage here, but also physical damage to the armour.
