From 72 to 1 Extreme Continued!

      Name: The Disc 2

Shape: A vertical spinning disc, supported by a framework and two large wheels. The components are all inside the wheels, which are perfectly round so it can€™t rest on its side. The framework is around the disc, and protects it from blows by horizontal spinners. The wheels also have a large spike sticking out from the centre, which prevents robots like Forcepower getting near enough to shove it around.

      Speed: 10 MPH.

Weapon: 30 KG spinning disc, powered by a B42-500 magmotor and going at 4000 RPM. According to Aaron this will whack out around 52 Kj€™s per strike.

Armour: The wheels are made of 5 mm aluminium, over 1 CM rubber compound, over 6 MM Ti all around, with 2 CM rubber treads wrapped around and glued in place. The frame is made of 1cm Ti bars.

Srimech: Totally invertible. Controls won€™t even have to be reversed after flipping, meaning it can just go straight back on the attack.

Strengths: Very damaging weaponry, hard to attack as wedges will just go straight under the wheels and be hit by the disc, and axes and crushers will slide around the wheels as opposed to damaging them, plus Behemoth style scoops can€™t get near enough to shove thanks to the spikes.

      Weaknesses: Quite hard to control.

The amusing thing about this fight is, thanks to the side spikes, hell be forced to try a very risky frontal or backal assault if he wants to grip the wheels, meaning I can just spin on the spot and whack his side.

For my own attacks Ill concentrate on the sides and try to get rid of those wheel guards... And then *evil grin*

I have a grudge with mr Steve, Wedge 3 vs Wedgie 3d. I think Steve has a grudge against me as well (what was the end score, 7-1?)

Either Wedgie 3d will be online tomorrow or when Matty comes online I will send him the folder.

OK, first up in the grudge fights, we have.......

            Baby Taz vs The Nose

            3
            2
            1
            ACTIVATE!
Baby Taz starts spinning up, but the nose has a quick charge underneath Baby Taz and flips it over and and then Baby Taz ends up self-righting itself but some of its teeth hit the floor and a bit of dust gets through the holes, and a few pieces of wood. Baby Taz does not take any dammage of this first counter, but after that, when Baby Taz goes for another attack from the spin, The Nose then gets underneath it, and the flipper flips Baby Taz, and some more blades hit the floor, and get in the armour again, and the spin stops, why, well the wood has jammed up some of the innards and it cant get up, the battle looks as if its going to end shortly, as Baby Taz cant get spinning again, and well, it stays on its back as Refbot counts 10 to Sgt. Bash comes in with the claw and gets through all the drill holes and Baby Taz catches fire! Refbot though puts out the fire as The Nose hits the pit release button, and Matilda dammages a part of the spinner with the flywheel, but the innards are already dammaged from being burnt, so armour dammage is just another hole to fall down, just like the pit, where The Nose comes in behind and pits Baby Taz.
            CEASE!

Baby Taz is crying like a little wussy baby.
THE NOSE WINS THIS GRUDGE MATCH!!!!!

And old score to settle now!

The Disc 2 vs Slammer 3

              3
              2
              1
              ACTIVATE!
Both machines start their plans to attack, The Disc gets a nice manouver to start things off with a hit at Slammer 3s side. The Disc then gets a back push at Slammer 3, and Slammer 3 though uses a nice tactic as it uses one of its flippers to flip straight off of The Disc 2 and then though takes an attack from The Disc 2s wheel. The Disc 2 gets to the side of the ways and hits them, doing some dammage to them, Slammer 3 is then hit from the side again, and it it sends Slammer 3 flying! Slammer 3 then breaks part of the jaw, making it useless now. The Disc backs up into the pit release button, and it then it goes at Slammer 3s other wheel, and it hits it. Slammer 3 isnt moving now with both wheels on the ground dammaged. So Refbot ends up counting out Slammer 3, meanwhile Grolwer comes in and grabs onto Slammer 3 with the jaws, pushes Slammer 3 to the pit, and dumps it down. And just like the Series Semis and 3rd Place Playoff. The Disc 2 is victorious over Slammer 3.
              CEASE!

Third time slammed by the same machine, thats the fate that Slammer 3 will have to settle for.
THE DISC 2 WINS THIS GRUDGE MATCH!!!!!

Actually, I need Wedgie 3ds stats before I can start the grudge fight.

Ill now accept entries for the world championship, 16 robots to enter, 2 entries of 2 for each person who enters, Ill accept no more than 2 robots representing 1 country. Robots can be vapourbots (stats must be posted) or real robots, or 1 each. Get entering!

Here are Wedge 3s stats for the Grudge Fight

                  1. Wedge 3 (50th Team Braveheart creation! ) (thanks a lot to Aaron Knight for suggesting armour, power and weapon power) (HW)
SHAPE- low box with front wedge (very similar to Mute)
                  COLOUR- light grey
                  WEIGHT- about 100kg
                  DIMENSIONS- 90cm X 75cm X 28cm
                  SPEED- 15mph
                  TURNING CIRCLE- 0
GROUND CLEARANCE- virtually 0mm at the front, 10mm at the sides and rear
                  ARMOUR- 8mm Grade 5 titanium
WHEELS- inside robot, 4 X Volcalone rubber wheels
                  POWER- 2 X Lynch 130s
WEAPONS- The main weapon on the latest Wedge machine is (as always) a flipper. This time around, rather than the usual Chaos 2-style flipper, Wedge 3 is armed with a broad flipping arm with Chaos 2 front plate attached (bent at the end ala Bigger Brother to aid in slipping under other bots). The arm remains top-hinged (ala Tsunami, Chaos 2 etc) and is powered by an 80mm ram running at 500psi- this gives Wedge 3 a flip-up force of 500kg, just a few kgs short of SpinVerter...maybe even more, according to Aaron
SRIMECH- flipper, rounded back, 1 grey semi-sphere on either side of robot to prevent getting stuck on its side
NOTES- flashing red light on top of robot, flies Scotland flag
STRENGTHS- powerful flipper, tough armour, fast, manoeuvrable, compact, good traction
WEAKNESSES- could be a bit tricky to control, lack of skirts

Now I need Wedgie 3ds stats to start the final grudge fight

                    For the Island of Man

                    Wedgie 3d and
SEGv2 (stats when I get them uploaded)

Roboteers name - Driver is Dave, the person working the weapon is my sister, Emma, and the engineer is my eldest brother, Steve.

Team Name - Team New Age

Robot Name - Wedgie 3d (According to my records, 100th vapourbot)

                    Mass - 100.001 Kg

                    Dimensions -

Length - the robots length is 632 mm, but with the front flipper hanging out this increases up to 786mm

Width - The tip of both side rollover cages reach 750mm. The width of the main machine is 500mm.

Height - When the flipper is up, the height is 921mm. Flipper down and from the highest point on the wedge the height is 574mm

Armour/chassis - The robot is a 4mm Hardox monocoque, so crusher resistance. The chassis is enforced with 18mm steel triangles giving a very tough little robot. The wheels are enclosed within a steel box to stop them jamming up with attacks, the front section is also heavily enforced to survive the constant flipping factor.

Weapon 1 - A backward-hinged Low Pressure flipper running at 145 psi (10 bars) using an 80mm ram giving about 30 big flips per fight, then it will run on for a long time for self-righting reasons. There is a 2L buffer tank, so it can fire once or twice without the buffer being needed to be fast fed (it will work faster!). These buffer tanks are right at the front of the wedge to stop the front lifting when moving. The flipper is hinged right at the top of the wedge to self-right the robot. At the front of the wedge, the flipper plate widens and runs along the ground, this piece is 2mm steel and is pointed at the front, and it is designed to get underneath full bodied spinners and skirts. However this may get damaged during the fight. The flipper is made from 18mm steel bar, reinforced with triangles and covered in a 4mm sheet of Aluminium on the top only. The steel is welded together and the cover is bolted onto the steel frame. The hinges are underneath the flipper and to stop pesky axes, the protection is a lump of 5mm steel covering the heavy duty hinge. The ram is covered by a secured net which rises with the flipper. This net can be removed if the rules state that it is illegal. The part that points out of the robot is 120 mm long so that it can get underneath Tempest.

Weapon two - A 5mm Hardox front scoop, this has 2 purposes, to hold the front down and to protect the buffer tanks from axes and spinners.

Shape - Low Wedge, rounded back to self-right the robot. Rollover bars on the sides to stop it landing on its side.

Power-link position - I though I better put this in, the power-link is underneath a 5mm titanium door on the wedge located left to the flipper.

Wheel type - 2-wheel drive, using C40-500 MagMotor, on 36 volts with a 12:1 gearing system, the wheels are 200mm and made out of Volcalone rubber, giving grip. There is a small ball bearing at the front, which makes the front move.

Batteries - The robot is run by 3 packs of 3000mAh NiCDs @ 36 volts. This gives 9 Amps to get though the full 5 minutes of a fight.

Safety - The Co2 tank is located behind the wheels, and is easy to reach, the dump value is located near the bottom and the co2 is dumped out of the back at an angle which will not do any damage. The value is heavy duty and to reach it, you need to remove the power link to put your arm to turn it. On the other hand the value will automatic come if the pressure inside the tank gets above 200 psi. There are failsafe lights located on the side of the machine in view of everyone, which tell the ground staff if the robot is active (all 5 lights are on). Inside the robot there is a plug and computer software tells the engineer if there is something wrong with the electrics.

Ground Clearance- At front zero, its 1 cm at the rear, and 5mm at the sides to allow for fast turning and with this in mind€¦

Turning Circle - Because of the ground clearance at the back, and the 2 wheel drive chassis this robot can turn on the spot. This could be a weapon against pushers, once spinning the front will lift because of the gyroscopic forces and it will become a full bodied spinner.

Speed - The robot can travel at a top speed of 24 mph and gets to this top speed in about 2 seconds. However unlike other fast robots the gearing allows the robot to slow down and push at a slower rate.

Colour - It is blue, the paint is about 2mm thick and has thin threads in the paint to stop some spinners ripping the pieces off.

Summary - Thanks to Mr Aaron Knight for helping me which this robot. I had been in theory driving this robot for a long time in the practise arena. If I forgotten anything with the stats please tell me.

If the rules request them, strengths are

                    · The speed of the machine
                    · Basically crusher resistance
                    · The flipper is long-lasting
                    · The turning ability
                    · The anti-skirt and anti FBS flipper blade

                    Weaknesses can include

                    · Against high energy full bodied spinners it can be painful
                    · The pit
                    · The camera track
                    · Any of Franks robots
                    · Super Sonic Spin Dash
                    · People not reading the stats properly

Ok for the other Scotland spot

Name: Disco 5 (thanks to Aaron who helped me gets my idea into the way it is) (was disco 4)
                          Shape: Low Wedge
Motivation: 2 x 200mm Go-Kart tyres that are foam filled.
                          Speed: 12.5 Mph
                          Weight: 100kg
Height: 300mm to top of body, 600mm to the top of the disc
                          Length: 1300mm
                          Width: 600mm
Weapon: 500mm Vert. flywheel @ 3000rpm. Has a 4.00 second spin up time due to the C40-500 Magmotor on 36v with a 2:1 twin tension cog belt reduction. The flywheel produces 31.5Kj€™s at maximum RPM but is lethal at around 1 second. The second weapon is also the srimech, this weapon is a low pressure pneumatic flipper running on 10Bar (145psi) running into a single 80mm bore ram. This produces 509kg at the ram and is then transferred into the flipper with a leverage point ratio of 1:1. This is a forward facing flipper like FireStorm and will have no problem toppling the heaviest of robots.
Chassis: 4mm Grade 5 Titanium monocoque with extra 5mm Titanium ribs to give it more rigidity.
Drive: 2 x S28-400 Magmotors @ 36v with a 10:1 Mod 2 spur gear reduction connected to two Kart Tyres.
                          Batteries: 90 x 3000mAh NiCD cells producing 36v @ 9amp
Color- the robot and skirts and flipper are blue and the disc is yellow
Clearance- it has 0mm at the front due to the wedge it has 0mm at the sides due to skirts its 6mm with out it also has a rear 0mm skirt and has 6mm with out it.
Notes- The flywheel is at the back off the robot it goes over the back of the wedge so if I can get a robot up the wedge far enough it will be hit by the disc. The skirts stop the robot landing on its side.

                          and
                          for the USA

                          SHAPE- Invertible box
COLOR- the robot and claws are a dark green color
                          WEIGHT- 100kg
                          DIMENSIONS- 1m x 80cm x 25cm

GROUND CLEARANCE- It has 6mm at the front due to the claws and has 0mm at the sides and rear without skirts 6mm. The skirts also work both ways up.
                          ARMOUR- 7mm lexan
MOVEMENT- 4 inner wheels that make the robot invertible
                          POWER- 2 x S28 Magmotors on 24v.
WEAPONS- it has a front pair of horizontal hydraulic crushing claws set up like deers antlers like you fine in extreme destruction. The claws have 3.5 tones of crushing force on the front tips of the claws at the middle is 6tones and right at the back it has 8 tones of crush.
NOTES- invertible, wide base means I wont topple while the deer is crushing
                          STRENGTHS- Very powerful weapon

                            2 entries for Wales:

Name: Wheely Pure Evil (Thanks to Aaron for flipper rams and armour)
                            Weight: 100kg
Armour: 3mm Aluminium Boron Carbite (slightly heavier than Aluminium, but harder than Tungsten)
                            Speed: 18mph
                            Shape: Low invertible wedge
Weapon 1: Top hinged flipper powered by a 120mm pneumatic ram, working at 145psi fixed on top of the robot. At the bottom of the flipper there is a 5mm Grade 5 Titanium wedge extender, designed to get under any ground clearance.
Weapon 2: Top hinged flipper powered by a 120mm pneumatic ram, working at 145psi fixed on the bottom of the robot. At the bottom of the flipper there is a 5mm Grade 5 Titanium wedge extender, designed to get under any ground clearance.
Strengths: Powerful weaponry and tough amrour.
Weaknesses: Exposed wheels on top and limited CO2 on board.
Ground Clearance: 1cm at the back, 0mm on sides due to side skirts and 0mm at front due to flipping plate.
                            Srimech: Invertible.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 S28-400 MagMotors running at 24v, which give 18mph top speed. The flippers are made from 4mm Aluminium Boron Carbite, and powered by 120mm pneumatic rams working at 145psi. Each flipper can flip roughly 1150kg each. However, due to the flipper set up, the robot can flip roughly 2300kg! The robot has hinged side skirts, to stop robot getting underneath. The skirts are made from 3mm Aluminium Boron Carbite, and are hinged so they run upside down.

                            Name: Bigger Bully
Weight: 150kg with heaviest weapon system on.

                            Speed: ~ 20mph
                            Shape: Box with skirts.
Weapon 1: Interchangable weapon systems (See Notes)
Strengths: Strong armour and good pushing power.
Weaknesses: Hard to control at full speed, and cannot self right with spinning bar.
Ground Clearance: 0mm with all weapon systems.
Srimech: The robot is invertible or can self right using the axe or flipper, but cannot run upside down with the spinning bar.
Notes: This is the 2nd incarnation of Bully, my best shuffler to date. This version has kept the 5mm Hardox armour, which did itself proud, but the weapon system has changed a lot. Due to the varying number of vapourbots entering the competition, Bigger Bully now has interchangable weaponry, designed to kill a certain type of robot. The robot itself is powered by 2 LEM130 Lynch motors running at 36v, which give 18HP. This is designed to push other bots out of the way and into the arena walls or pit. There are 4 weapon systems, all designed to defeat a certain type of robot. These weapons are:
The top hinged flipping arm is the main weapon of Bigger Bully. It is powered by 2 50mm Dia High Pressure Rams fed off 4kg of liquid C02. It is capable of flipping 250kg, and also self rights the robot if flipped. The flipping arm is hinged at the back of the robot, and has a bungee cord attached to it, designde to snap the flipper back straight away, increasing momentum and thrust. All skirts are added to the robot, apart from the front skirt, which is added to the flipping arm, designed to get under and act as an Atomic 2 style flipping plate. The flipper has roughly 15-20 flips in it per fight. The flipper is used against flywheeled robots, FBSs, ramming robots, robots that have a high ground clearance, high pressured flipping robots and robots that lack srimechs (not invertible robots).
The robot also has an axe weapon it can choose from. The axe is Dominator 2 style, and is powered by a C40-400 MagMotor running at 36v. Due to the way the axe self rights the robot, only the front skirt is used for this system, aiding in manouverability. The axe can come down with roughly 4KJ of force, and can dent any armour up to 6mm Titanium. The axe weapon is used against robots with weak top armour and robots that do not have damaging weaponry, such as Velocirippa or Mighty Mouse. It is also used against invertible robots with inner wheels and robots that rely on a rollcage or rollover deisgn to self right.
We also have the choice of a pair of horizontal crushing jaws, powered by hydraulics. The robot can operate upside down with this weapon system. The jaws are mounted horizontally at the front of the robot, and are powered at 2700psi with a flow rate of roughly 4.5 litres per minute. They can roughly crush 5 tonnes at the tip. No skirts are used for this weapon system, due to the invertability of the design. The jaws are made from 5mm Ti/V alloy, with diamond coated tips, designed to get through anything. When the jaws are embedded in another robot, Bigger Bully will push them into the pit, or into a house robot. The jaws are used against robots with low traction and robots with no skirts. It is also used against clusterbots and invertible robots with outer wheels.
The final and most deadly weapon is a 10kg horizontal spinning bar made from Ti/V alloy. It is mounted on top of the robot, meaning that if it is flipped, it cannot run upside down. However, all the skirts are added, which give 0mm ground clearance all over. The spinning bar is powered by a C40-400 MagMotor running at 36v, and is geared down 6:1, meaning that the bar spins at roughly 5000RPM. The spinning bar hits with a lot of force, and can damage most armour. This weapon system is used against axed robots, robots with no flippers or lifting devices, also against poorly armoured robots and axelbots (both without a flipper) and crushing robots.
I would like to finalise my weapon choice before every fight, if I may.

NAME- Wedge 3 (50th Team Braveheart creation! ) (thanks a lot to Aaron Knight for suggesting armour, power and weapon power) (HW)

NAME- Killotine : EVO (formerly Killotine) (thanks to Tom Roper and Aaron Knight for helping with the machine) (HW)
SHAPE- compact box shape with a front Storm 2-style wedge
                                COLOUR- red
                                WEIGHT- about 100kg
                                DIMENSIONS- 100cm X 70cm X 35cm
                                SPEED- about 16mph
                                TURNING CIRCLE- 0m
GROUND CLEARANCE- virtually 0mm at the front, 10mm at sides and back without skirts, 0mm at sides and back with skirts
ARMOUR- 15mm polycarbonate top and bottom, 3.25mm Hardox armour at sides, front and back
                                WHEELS- inside robot, 4WD
                                POWER- 2 X LEM-130s
WEAPONS- The main weapon is the large 180 degree pneumatic axe, very similar to that of Killerhurtz, which operates ala a rack-and-pinion system like Terrorhurtz. Running on 160psi, it really packs more than a punch and can very easily self-right the machine. Also, if anything should happen to the axe, then the robot can use the low Storm 2-style wedge and great pushing power to resort to a Tornado-style tactic - ram to death!
SRIMECH- The axe. Even if it€™s already been fired while flipped, the axe can right itself ala Killerhurtz, aided by a rounded back. Also, just like the original Killotine, the machine has a rounded back and a red semi-sphere on either side of robot to stop it landing on its side.
NOTES- flies the Scotland flag, the new version of my 2nd ever Vapourbot, Killotine
STRENGTHS- Fast, dangerous weapon, good amount of traction, difficult to get under, quick srimech, nice and fast
                                WEAKNESSES- so-so turning
