Four Round 1 fights down, 12 to go! Next come two VFT rookies, both designed for shoving: Reventon, a box robot that relies on scooping opponents and doing some damage with a small disc into the bargain; and STAT, an invertable brick with a threatening static spike and some serious power in its petrol engine!
House Robots: Assassinator & Drilla Killa Ultimate

3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
There was barely any time to think before the two robots met in the centre of the arena with a crash, STATs spike poking into Reventons scoop! Slowly, STATs petrol drive began to push Reventon backwards, so the other robot reversed, twisted, and managed to run into STATs side! The vertical disc did little to the thick titanium, but Reventon was able to shove STAT at speed for a moment before STATs high ground clearance allowed it to wheel off the scoop! It then charged, but missed as Reventon ran in again and got a glancing blow on the rear wheel! STAT reversed quickly on Reventons side, shoving it until Reventon twisted away! Reventon tried to turn back into STAT, but wasnt quite fast enough, and STAT charged into the side with its spike which just glanced off! The robots twisted around each other for a moment before colliding, STATs spike coming into the side of Reventons scoop but not penetrating, allowing Reventon to shove until the spike slipped away and it could reach the side! Again, however, STAT just rolled off and drove its spike into Reventons side, managing to shove until it had Reventon against the wall, close to the pit release! As STAT reversed to nudge the release, Reventon charged it head on, straining to shove it towards the pit, but STAT was just that much stronger!
After a second of struggling, STAT reversed and Reventon found itself flying foward! STAT rushed into the side, hoping to curve Reventon round into the pit, but it just missed! Reventon managed to slip away, then suddenly reversed, and rushed STATs rear right over the abyss! With three wheels still on the floor, STAT just managed to escape - Reventon ran into its side again, but by this time, the pit had closed! When STAT rolled off the scoop again, taking a few nicks from the disc, Reventon reversed and managed to catch it in the side, shoving some more before STAT got away again, turned around, and initiated another head on charge! Finding STAT just overpowering it again, Reventon reversed and twisted away - when STAT followed, Reventon caught it! STAT just rolled right over the top, leaving Reventon running into Drilla Killa Ultimates CPZ! As Reventon reversed to escape, STAT reversed in and pushed it straight back! DKUs claws came together on Reventon, but the competitor struggled valiantly against the House Robot, while STAT happily smashed repeatedly into Reventons exposed side! Eventually, DKU became bored and released - Reventon found itself facing the side of the attacking STAT, and quickly came in and raced it into the wall with a bang! Tilting as it began running off, STAT was tilted against the wall, and began slowly running back and forth along the Lexan surface on its side! Making its move before STAT came down, Reventon charged and carried it hard into the arena disc! STAT went flying away, stunned but largely unharmed!
As Reventon reversed in again, STAT retaliated, trying to reach the side, but Reventon just ran right past it! A moment later, the two robots came together head on again, but Reventon reversed rather than waste its time, before successfully getting in on STATs side - this time, as they hit the wall, STAT was flipped over, while Reventon hit the pit release! Turning before STAT could escape, it charged, but STAT rolled off before they reached the pit, and reversed into Reventons side, pinning it against the wall! But when it reversed to try and pit it, Reventon escaped - STAT wisely retreated, with Reventon following, until the pit was closed again! When it did, STAT swiveled around and brought its spike into Reventons side again, shoving until the spike slipped and Reventon got away to reverse and shove STAT once again! When STAT escaped, Reventon rushed it again, getting underneath and nicking a rear wheel until STAT ran away to get into a better position! When the two robots collided again, STATs spike again caused it to slip, and Reventon got under the side again, but again got little chance to shove before STAT got away! Seeing the pit release in its path, Reventon opened the pit for the third time, only to be pinned against the release by STAT! STAT reversed, but as Reventon did likewise, STAT twisted and shoved it towards the pit - unfortunately, the curving path took them away from the hazard! Managing to slip away again, Reventon excitedly ran into STAT....who just rolled off again and reversed back into Reventons side! However, it only knocked the reversing Reventon, who charged again - and almost ran straight into the pit as it missed STAT! Another attack from STAT failed to send Reventon pitward, but did pin it against the wall until the pit closed!
After pinning Reventon for a while, STAT ran back into the pit release, wanting to end the fight before time ran out - Reventon, of course, charged again, but STAT moved away and allowed Reventon to charge into the wall as it swerved! Reventon evaded STATs attempt to get round the side, then moved towards the pit with STAT following. The robots front corners collided, and after a moment, Reventons scoop came under STAT, who was again shoved for a moment before escaping, and taking one of many blows from the blade! It got itself out of position before Reventon could pit it, and after a few wasted seconds, the two robots ran into each others sides, twisting together for a moment until STATs wheels ran up Reventons skirts! As Reventon tried shoving, STAT just ran right on over it again! Reventon dodged another charge just as time ran out on this frantic and very close battle, leading to the first judges decision of the new VFT!
CEASE!

Dominance: R - 5/10 x 6 = 30, S - 5/10 x 6 = 30 (both robots showed equal dominance)
Damage: R - 3/10 x 5 = 15, S - 1/10 x 5 = 5 (Reventon caused more damage with its own disc and the arena disc)
Aggression: R - 8/10 x 4 = 32, S - 8/10 x 4 = 32 (both robots were equally aggressive)
Control: R - 7/10 x 3 = 21, S - 7/10 x 3 = 21 (both robots had equal control)
Strategy: R - 4/10 x 2 = 8, S - 4/10 x 2 = 8 (neither robot had that much strategy other than charging, dominating and attempting to pit - STAT used a House Robot, while Reventon used the arena disc)
Style: R - 4/10 x 1 = 4, S - 3/10 x 1 = 3 (neither robot had that much style either, but Reventon gets one more point for tilting and flipping STAT against the wall a couple of times)
Total: Reventon = 110, STAT = 99

REVENTON GOES THROUGH TO ROUND 2!

Next to fight is The 6isc, a descendant of VFT5 champion The Disc 2 - its supported with a single bar, with a triangular wheel setup on either side and a 26kg vertical disc in the middle! Ready to face it is Eurypterus Evolved, another shover with interchangable setups - here, itll be using a concave plow!
House Robots: Ultimate Snakebite & Megaraptor

3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Eurypterus Evolved ran straight into The 6isc as its deadly disc began to spin, shoving it backwards but being knocked upwards a little in the process! Once back down, it kept going, but not for long as The 6isc twisted out of its plow and brought its weapon into the left side, ripping at the hinged wedge! Eurypterus reversed so it could charge head on, but was knocked again - as The 6isc went for the other side, it quickly retreated! As Eurypterus charged again, The 6isc was shoved right back against the wall - Eurypterus was knocked up again, and barely had time to respond upon coming back down before The 6isc hit the side of the plow and tilted it again! This time, Eurypterus came down on one of The 6iscs axles, allowing The 6isc to twist and flip it over, leaving a nice scar in the right hinged wedge! Eurypterus reversed before The 6isc could attack again, then charged - as The 6isc turned to try and attack the side again, Eurypterus hit it side on and slammed it back into the wall! The side spike slid against the wall and The 6isc turned into Eurypterus, hitting the side of the plow and knocking it onto its side! Eurypterus landed on The 6isc again, and was flipped again, sustaining a wound on its sea scorpion logo!
Before Eurypterus could escape, it took another glancing blow on the side, but it aggressively charged The 6isc again and took another knock, then another as it kept on the attack! When The 6isc tried turning again, it was simply shoved side on again, and this time its disc hit the wall, sending it flying backwards on top of Eurypterus! Reversing off, it hit the hinged wedge again and left another scar, getting its disc back up to speed once back on the floor! It tried turning into Eurypteruss side but the shoving robot was too fast and the disc just hit the plow again - however, the right side of the plow was starting to look a little insecure! This attack allowed The 6isc to strike the side of Eurypterus again, causing more damage but not flipping Eurypterus, who swerved and box rushed The 6isc again, catching it before it could swerve away! This impact was the last straw for the plows right side, which was sheared away from the chassis! Thanks to the now uneven plow, the 6isc managed to escape Eurypteruss grip before they hit the wall again, but only glanced the rear side as Eurypterus escaped!
Eurypterus reversed across the arena into the pit release, then charged once again at the advancing 6isc, swerving around it and trying to shove on one axle! They didnt get far before The 6isc slid off however, and ran its disc into the side again - Eurypterus was tilted, and came back down in time for The 6isc to smash it again, shearing bolts on the hinged wedge but not ripping it off! Eurypterus tried reversing The 6isc towards the pit, but only succeeded in adding a scar to its largely untouched rear and being tilted again! As the pit closed with nobody in it, Eurypterus had another go, reopening the pit, turning and charging at full speed! The 6isc failed to evade, but Eurypterus sustained another nasty blow, allowing The 6isc to go for the side again! Eurypterus responded by charging on one axle again and pinning The 6isc against the wall! It reversed, then came in again to try and slow the disc, which hit the wall and sent its owner bouncing back against Eurypterus! Eurypterus pinned the tilted 6isc, but the disc hit the top of the plow and knocked it back....and the whole plow fell off!
Eurypterus shoved its own plow aside as it tried to ram The 6isc again, but the wedgeless front allowed The 6isc to score an effective hit even with its disc slowed a little, knocking Eurypterus upwards and backwards! The pit had closed again, so Eurypterus reopened it for the third time, and attempted to bring its skirted rear into play, but this gave The 6isc time to move away from the pit! Eurypterus charged anyway, but The 6isc turned and hit a rear corner to give Eurypterus another nasty scar! Shifting before The 6isc could attack its left side, Eurypterus charged one axle with its front again, shoving The 6isc in a curved path but missing the pit! It reversed to charge The 6isc in, but The 6isc shifted and managed to bring its disc into the front again, tilting Eurypterus upwards! Striking again in the hope of achieving a pitting itself, The 6isc flipped Eurypterus over, then smashed the side again, but again the pit closed! Looking for a new tactic, the heavily scarred Eurypterus ran across the arena towards the arena disc, and The 6isc confidently followed. Once it was close enough, Eurypterus swerved around The 6isc, who turned in reponse! Eventually, Eurypterus tried a shove, but mistimed and took another disc blow on the corner! Still mobile and undeterred, it managed to catch a single axle again and shove The 6isc backwards! The other axle struck the arena disc and The 6isc flew, striking the top of Eurypterus and hitting the side again as it rolled off! With these blows, Eurypterus Evolved seemed to be finally running out of steam, moving more slowly - thankfully, it evaded one more strike from The 6isc before time ran out!
CEASE!

Dominance: EE - 5/10 x 6 = 24, T6 - 6/10 x 6 = 36 (both robots had moments of dominance, but The 6iscs were more numerous)
Damage: EE - 1/10 x 5 = 5, T6 - 7/10 x 5 = 35 (The 6isc, obviously, caused a lot more damage)
Aggression: EE - 8/10 x 4 = 32, T6 - 7/10 x 4 = 28 (Eurypterus was a little more aggressive)
Control: EE - 7/10 x 3 = 21, T6 - 8/10 x 3 = 24 (The 6isc was a little more controlled)
Strategy: EE - 4/10 x 2 = 8, T6 - 6/10 x 2 = 12 (both robots had limited strategy - Eurypterus to box rush and use the hazards, The 6isc to aim at the sides and hopefully take off the plow - but The 6isc had more success)
Style: EE - 3/10 x 1 = 3, T6 - 6/10 x 1 = 6 (The 6iscs whacking and overturning was more stylish than EEs ramming)
Total: Eurypterus Evolved = 93, The 6isc = 141

Sorry, problems with my connection again.

Time to find second-rounders number 7 and 8! First are two VFT veterans, Achilles and Leprosy Infection - the former a durable wedged box with a lifting arm, the latter an invertable box with a spinning drum!
House Robots: Horcrux & King Cobra

3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Both robots moved quickly out of the traps, both meeting in the arena centre and twisting towards each others sides! Before Achilless arm began to lift, Leprosy Infections drum brushed the side and knocked it away! However, Achilles was twisted in the impact, and managed to run forward, catch LI on its arms plate and lift its rear, using the claw on top to grip! However, LIs drum hit the floor and both robots were tilted, balancing for a moment before coming to rest, Achilless arm propping it up! Achilles withdrew the arm to settle on its back, but as it began selfrighting, the released LI struck a vicious blow from behind, its now downwards-spinning drum scratching the Hardox! The two robots collided again - LIs drum knocked Achilles back but could no longer flip it! Achilles quickly came in again and used its arm to tip LI over - LIs wheels spun helplessly as Achilles shifted into a better position before gripping with the claw again, and shoving it across the arena towards King Cobra! A moment later, King Cobras axes were happily raining down on LIs top, leaving numerous dents in the titanium top! After a few agonising moments of this, Achilles carried Leprosy Infection over to the arena disc, but it forgot to release as they hit, so both robots went flying away!
At this point, Achilles released Leprosy Infection, who immediately went for the sides again - but before it could reach, Achilles got its lifting plate underneath again and lifted enough for LIs drum to hit the ground! LI bounced, allowing Achilles to catch it side on again and lift! Leprosy Infection could do nothing to stop itself being carried towards King Cobra again - the House Robot again brought its axes into play, but this time, only one hit the already dented top of LI, while another struck Achilles! Achilles wisely reversed, still carrying its victim - another trip into the arena disc was in order, but this time Achilles released its claw just before impact, so LI was free to be tossed backwards by the disc with another horrible scar in its armour! Leprosy Infection was looking pretty battered, but its thick armour was just about holding up! Achilles spun around and charged in, but miscalculated, allowing LI to strike again with its drum and cause damage! Achilles narrowly avoided being pinned against the wall as the two robots twisted until they were facing each other again, before aiming for side-on attacks. LIs drum was brought into play before Achilless lifter, knocking Achilles so LI could use a better side attack to scar its opponent, before Achilles ran away! LI prepared to strike again as Achilles approached again, but this time Achilles got its timing right, just avoided the drum and got its lifter into LIs side, tipping it over again! Gripping with the claw, it now decided to end the fight before it took any more damage, shoving Leprosy Infection into the pit release, and manouvering to shove it into the pit and out of the fight!

ACHILLES GOES THROUGH TO ROUND 2!

Next are two rookies - Exodus is a tracked box with a range of interchangable weapons (here, itll be wielding a Biohazard-like flipping arm), while Holepunch is a Razer-esque crusher!
House Robots: Megaraptor & The Martian

3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Exodus had a much faster start, rushing around Holepunch who turned to attack, but not quite fast enough! As soon as Exodus had its arm under its opponent, it fired, throwing Holepunch onto its back....and right over again! Holepunch had little time to escape before Exodus attacked again, this time shoving Holepunch across the floor and firing the arm just as they reached the wall! Holepunch was left propped up and unable to move! Exodus waited threateningly next to its stranded opponent for about 20 seconds, until it was reminded that you cant leave your opponent against the wall for more than 30 seconds! Reluctantly, it shoved Holepunch away - then just flipped it again before it could roll over! Holepunch rested on one side for a few tense seconds before coming back down, forcing Exodus to attack again! Holepunch turned in the nick of time, but failed to catch Exodus in the rear! Exodus retreated to a safe distance before coming in again, running circles around the slower Holepunch before coming under the side, shoving, and flipping it onto the closed pit! Exodus excitedly reversed into the pit release....but came in too quickly and missed! It shifted to hit the release - just as Holepunch, having rolled over, had gotten out of the way and was coming in on the attack! Exodus acted quickly, running around, pinning Holepunch against the wall and overturning it again, then shoving its helpless opponent on a straight path into the pit, just before it closed again!
