    Okay, Liam is back, and he gave tactics.

    Battle WILL be up soon. That is, if my computer doesnt overheat again.

      Kody: Ah, Liam, how goes it.
      Liam: It goes not so good now that I€™m kicked away from the gold€¦and silver€¦
      Kody: Ah well, here€™s the play-off. You€™ve got nothing to lose, right?
      Liam: True.
      Kody: Spin Dash Unleashed. Tactics?
      Liam: Oh no€¦um, lifter. Ram him around, preferably into the pit.
      Kody: Good luck.
      Liam: Thanks.

      Kody: Steve, how€™sa boy?
      Steven: Not too bad. Bugger I couldn€™t get to the top two but third is what I€™m aiming for now.
      Kody: Good optimism there.
      Steven: Thank you.
      Kody: Systematic Shocker. Tactics?
      Steven: Tracks = saw magnets. Try and saw them off once I destroy the skirts, and/or get him to one of the arena saws and see if that does anything.
      Kody: Good luck.
      Steven: Mm-hmm.

      Obelix Bulguous says hi with a thwack of the hammer on the arena floor€¦and joining him is the tasteless twister of Double Big Mac.

      Activate!!!

      Who gets the bronze? We€™ll have to find out! Spin Dash is spinning up that fearsome saw that has won it €˜Best Saw€™ in the Vapourbot Awards for many consecutive years, yet Systematic Shocker is on the hunt immediately! Before Spin Dash can implement its skirt-slashing wheel-shredding tactics, Liam€™s tracked machine barrels into the front of it stopping the sawblade cold! Spin Dash spins away a bit but in comes Liam to keep with the pushin€™! The wedge slides under the front of Spin Dash, and all the way under to the rear, lifting the saw, wheels, and pretty much the entire robot off the ground!

      Steve fires the motors in reverse gear, but Liam has already got Spin Dash right where he wants him! With his robot at an angle, Steve is going nowhere fast! It€™s Liam€™s game now and he decides to end it quickly. He very slowly turns, careful not to repeat his mistake with Achilles last time, and backs up towards the pit release button€¦when suddenly the wheels of Spin Dash make an abrupt movement, twisting Spin Dash around sideways onto the wedge! Before Systematic Shocker can react to this surprising development, Spin Dash has launched himself off the upraised wedge and is away, able, with great relief, to spin up that sawblade!

      In a hurry Systematic Shocker rockets after him, lowering the wedge as he does so. However Steve tries out a tack he tried with Gabriel III, and spins on the spot. Systematic Shocker, however, halts his approach immediately, while Spin Dash keeps on spinning. He turns right into the direction of Spin Dash€™s rotation and guns towards it! Spin Dash pulls out of the dance sharply and backs up sending Systematic Shocker flying right by! Seeing a giant opportunity to attack, Steve lets the motors fly as his robot charges straight into Systematic Shocker€™s side before the tracked machine can turn to protest!

      CRASH!!!

      And who says you need a heavy disc to rip off skirts? Spin Dash has proved us all wrong here, as with that mighty saw blow the left side skirt of Systematic Shocker is torn clean off that side and lands with a clatter in the middle of the arena! Unfortunately, it€™s given Systematic Shocker a huge area of attack since it spun Spin Dash away on impact, and now makes a charge of his own! And charge it is: taking charge of the fight, that is, as he scoops up Spin Dash with the wedge, and without pausing to wait for a sance or something lifts it up with Spin Dash partially on it€¦resulting in the VFT1 runner-up inverted!

      Spin Dash runs away quickly, the information that his saw is pretty much rendered useless against the tracks now skimming through Steve€™s mind, but to win this match he must be aggressive, and in comes Spin Dash again to meet an incoming Systematic Shocker! Sadly, the saw doesn€™t even connect, and Steve misjudged the distance. Although the saw is still low enough to hit Systematic Shocker€¦the wedge seems to reach out longer than the saw! But it turns out that it€™s sad for Liam too, as Spin Dash flies straight up onto the wedge, and bashes against the front so hard that he bounces right back off! Systematic Shocker quickly tries to lift Spin Dash up but instead leaves himself open to an attack as Spin Dash is off the wedge and directly in front! Spin Dash gladly scoops up the moment while it€™s given to him!

      CRASH!!!

      Well, nobody expected that! The wedge lowered onto the saw blade, but hardly stopped it at all, and as a reuslt it pushed Systematic Shocker further ONTO the sawblade, drawing the blade right into the front behind the wedge! Sparks fly, but neither bot are seperated, and Liam tries every which way to get his robot off of the sawblade, but it€™s getting slimmer by the moment as Spin Dash is pushing him towards Obelix Bulguous€™ CPZ! The rear of Systematic Shocker meets the wedge of Obelix and BANG! Goes the hammer of the mighty house robot straight onto - oh dear, right onto one of the tracks! It doesn€™t look like there€™s any damage so far, but Spin Dash is keeping him pinioned there, and ooh! Now he€™s onto Obelix€™s own wedge! Double Big Mac is getting closer to the CPZ€¦Spin Dash moves out of the way in a hurry. Speaking of hurrying, Obelix Bulguous is driving all the way to the other side of the arena, with Systematic Shocker trapped onto the wedge! This can€™t end well€¦WHAM!!!

      Spin Dash meanwhile is positioning himself€¦on the arena saws? BZZT! He gets tossed a bit, but not over. Perhaps he is trying to get enough air to be flipped back over, but it€™s definitely not working. You know what else is not working? By the looks of it, Systematic Shocker. The wedge is working, moving up and down€¦but the tracks are completely stationary, and so is glance of Liam Eliot as he simply will not take his eyes off his robot, and is quite worried. Spin Dash moves over and decides to add insult to injury by slashing one of the sides with the sawblade!

      CRASH!!!

      Sparks ahoy, but no additional damage. The Watcher is coming closer and closer€¦and stops directly in front of Liam€™s robot. Ahh€¦oh dear. You€™re about to be counted out, good sir€¦
      1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10!

      And now the house robots can truly come out to play as the now 3rd-placed Spin Dash Unleashed spins on the spot in a sort of victory dance. Obelix moves in again, and starts the hammer party! BANG!!! The hardox top takes a heavy hit! BANG!!! One of the tracks is smashed! BANG!!! A 2nd blow to the hardox top, and it€™s been badly dented! Double Big Mac is out again, a very friendly chap at other times but somehow the effect the warzone has on him, ehhh€¦and Systematic Shocker€¦is about to feel his bad side.

      CRASH!!!!

      Oh, look at this! The power of the house robots is proven once more! The spinning hammers connect with Systematic Shocker€™s right side, and completely takes off the side panel, skirt and all! DBM is okay, the weight having saved it this time, and Obelix takes the broken 4th-place robot to€¦the floor flipper. Steve isn€™t happy with the way Liam€™s robot is being treated, and backs into the pit release button, open the pit. 3€¦2€¦1€¦FLIP! Systematic Shocker tosses and tumbles in mid-air, to land right near Spin Dash, who just parked himself nearby, and lands dead on his back€¦as Spin Dash shoves him into the pit to spare Liam any further humiliation.

      CEASE!

      A thrilling tale to tell, but all Systematic Shocker€™s hopes come to a glitch.
      SPIN DASH UNLEASHED ACHIEVES 3RD PLACE AND THE BRONZE MEDAL!!!

      Kody: Aww€¦
      Liam: Yeah. I didn€™t think I would do so well, to be honest.
      Kody: You had him in the beginning for quite a while though. What happened?
      Liam: Well I kinda gave him a chance to attack when he fell off the wedge the second time€¦and he gave me to the house robot. What can I say? Good tactic.
      Kody: I noticed you took no damage from the blade.
      Liam: Well it is a tough machine, I just€¦yeah.
      Kody: Good having you here. Good luck in the future, ay.
      Liam: Thank you. I€™ll definitely be back.
      Kody: All right. Ladies and gentlemen, let€™s hear it for Systematic Shocker!!!
      *crowd cheers*
      Kody: Well, haha, you got something.
      Steven: Now what I wanted, but yes, it€™s quite something.
      Kody: Now tell me, he had you on the ropes at the start€¦what where you thinking at that point?
      Steven: Well after I was flipped, I bloody well didn€™t know what the hell to do. Possibly ram him to death, see what the saw could do but it really didn€™t do much.
      Kody: And then you got him on top of the saw!
      Steven: I had no idea that was going to happen, honestly.
      Kody: He looked quite unstable, er, how€™d you keep hold of him?
      Steven: Well he was directly on top of the axle of the saw so that gave us some leverage to push him around without having him fall off. Then we gave him to Obelix and I guess that did it for him.
      Kody: Good job for getting bronze. Going to come back to possibly get the gold?
      Steven: Oho, you bet. I WILL be back. :wink:
      Kody: Yes you will. Everybody, raise your voices, for SPIN DASH UNLEASHED!!!!
      *crowd cheers*

        Chezza: I€™d like to take a bite of those wheels, if I can get close enough. To get close enough I€™ll have to get between the hammers€¦dunno if I can, though.

        AJ: Ooh€¦well those sides look particularly nice for my hammers to get into so I€™ll aim for them. Don€™t really fancy hitting that curved front so I€™ll stay away from that.

          Whoa... an incredible end to a great little tournament. Winning it just makes it even better. Ive gotta say bad luck to Chezza, because I thought I was going to loose that one. Great work Kody on both the CADs and the battles.

            In my personel opinion, anyone who goes to the effort to do the pictures of the robot placings, the robots before the battle, pre-battle and post-battle interviews, and writing a corker of a battle deserves every bit of respect from every person on this forum. Nice battle, nice competition, and WELL DONE AJ, CHEZZA AND STEVEN!

              I do believe youve excelled yourself, Kody. Not only were the battles lovely and detailed, but the fake interviews gave the tournament that little extra spark. The CAD placings are a sweet touch too (Spin Dash Unleashed looks AWESOME. )
