I have a plan. Im going to try and do some of the fights tomorrow at work, if I can get some time to myself in the office (which hopefully should happen).
The fight against the ruling house robots revisited.
Round 2, Fight 2
Alpha Rex & Nitro-Gene 4.0 vs. Die-Ro & Exa-Gore-Ic: Evo.
Greetings from a corner in Tidworth camp, far away from the exit and with hardly any living things around and likely to disturb me, let€™s get writing.
So it is the final tag-team matches before the teams are broken up, so will the semi finals be an all vapourbot affair or will the house robots make it 2 and 2 in the final 4. There is only 2 ways to find out, and I don€™t really want to try out the 2nd way, so it is time for some fighting.
I can€™t remember how both teams did in round 1 because it has been so long ago, but I can tell you that all 4 robots won.
Joey & Paul are in the first control booth, flippers at the ready, Chris and Kody are in the 2nd control booth, strange flipper and the claws at the ready, and Die-Ro has been repaired from its earlier fight where it got a bit damaged.

Both Alpha Rex and Nitro Gene 4.0 are away, the wheels taking both robots up-to their top speeds of 15 mph and 22 mph respectfully. The same can be said about Exa-Gore-Ic: Evo and Die-Ro, getting up-to their speeds of 10 and 8 mph respectfully, as Nitro-Gene comes towards Die-Ro, Chris makes a quick dodge, but Paul spins around and is back onto the attack, and Chris makes another quick dodge, but straight into the front of Alpha-Rex, as Nitro-Gene slams into the rear end, underneath the 8mm ground clearance and Alpha-Rex pulls away, dodging an attack by Exa-Gore-Ic: Evo.
Nitro-Gene is pushing Die-Ro who can€™t get any traction on the arena surface to get away, as the flipper fires, sending the 200 kilo machine straight over the fence, and into the randomly placed camera sending the camera smashing into the polycarbonate sheeting as Chris puts down his controls. Meanwhile at the other end of the arena, Joey is dodging Kody€™s attacks well, as Kody tries to get the claws of Exa-Gore-Ic: Evo around Alpha-Rex, but is failing as Nitro-Gene barges over into play, as it€™s gone down to 2 flippers against Exa-Gore-Ic: Evo€™s claws, as both Nitro-Gene and Alpha-Rex close in onto Exa-Gore-Ic: Evo, looking for the kill, as Kody tries to escape, but Paul puts on a burst of speed, and smashing underneath Exa-Gore-Ic: Evo, flipping it, onto Alpha Rex, as Joey spins around, flipping Exa-Gore-Ic: Evo back towards Nitro-Gene who is near the arena wall.
Exa-Gore-Ic: Evo tries to get away, but Nitro-Gene has got the machine trapped, and quickly fires the flipper sending the 400kg monster up and over the arena wall, not as high as Die-Ro, but as Exa-Gore-Ic: Evo lands on the camera tracks, Alpha Rex smashes into Nitro-Gene and Joey sends Paul€™s machine over the fence as well.
Cease
Exa-Gore-Ic: Evo and Die-Ro are sent out of the arena, as Nitro-Gene and Alpha Rex go forward to the semi finals.
Semi Final Draw:
Seung Mina IV vs. Alpha Rex
Whirligig 4.5 vs. Nitro-Gene 4.0
AWESOME FIGHT! *High-5s Liam, before realising that now were on our own, and then starts to get ready for war*
Seung Mina IV vs. Alpha Rex: This could go either way. But given that Alpha-Rex may be better at getting under its opponents than Seung is, Liam to push to the edge, and toss the more experienced boy over the fence.
Whirligig 4.5 vs. Nitro-Gene 4.0: ... I want revenge...
Last time I fought Whirligig was with Nitro-Gene, and it was in Samuels Robobash Round 2, and in the first fight, Nitro was torn to bare bones, but the fight was deemed by others as unrealistic, so it was rewritten, and I lost again - this time by a 2 point JD. So Im after blood.
Ram in as soon as possible, and with my shock-proofed front Ill take the blow and stop the ring. Then shove to the edge and flip. Do this repeatedly so I can build up aggression points and style and control points for a JD if I fail to get him OOTA before then Bottom line: I wont let him attack the sides, and Ill remove the skirts to increase agility and reduce the chances of damage, and dont let my attacking stop, as I plan to be as aggressive as possible.
The fight against the fallen house robots revisited
Semi final 1
Nitro-gene 4.0 vs. Whirligig 4.5
In round 1, Nitro-gene teamed up with Alpha Rex, and proceeded to flip 2 evil looking house robots onto their backs, where the evil house robots lacked a self-righter and were sent out, and in the 2nd round Paul€™s machine flipped both Die-Ro & Exa-Gore-Ic: Evo over the fence, before joining them via Alpha Rex€™s sneaky flip. This invertible box has a front wedge and a very powerful flipper.
Meanwhile in round 1, Whirligig 4.5 teamed up with Seung Mina IV, but got some serious damage from being flipped into Golden Lotus, a full bodied spinner a couple times, however Steve and Kody won on the Judge€™s decision. In round 2, Whirligig 4 was back, smoking as one of the bearings collapsed causing the rim to rum onto the body work causing friction; however it got seriously damaged by an evil house robot with a massive vertical disc, so it€™s off to the pits to see how this shuffling ring spinner is getting on
*visits pit area before returning*
Well, it is all back together in one piece, the drive has been tested, and the ring has been spun, however the chassis is being held together by masses of gaffer tape to protect the new welds, but the most worrying thing from Steve is that his spare parts bin is empty, repairing the parts from the first 2 fights, he has had to borrow motors and other parts from other teams, so he has to be careful not to get damaged.
Meanwhile in Paul€™s pit area, all is well and empty after Paul being the sportsman he is has spent time hammering Whirligig back into shape to give him a fair fight.
Both robots are wheeled into the arena, and both teams enter the booths, looking for a place in the final.

Nitro-Gene is away, wheels not spinning as the power is slowly put on, as Whirligig 4.5 spins up-to speed, forcing Steve into making a quick dodge as Nitro-Gene spins around and comes straight back onto the attack, and Whirligig 4.5 once more makes a dodging move to avoid the front plate slamming into the robot, where one false move could mean a flying lesson for Whirligig 4.5, as some lovely person has put up some random targets around the arena for flippers to hit, with a cash prize of 0.0001p for the flipper with the most points. Whirligig 4.5 dodges a 3rd attack by Nitro-Gene, as Steve revs up the ring spinner past the point he has tested it.
Dust is sent flying away from Whirligig 4.5 as it turns into a hurricane as Paul holds back, not wanting to introduce his lovely machine into the spinning madness of Whirligig 4.5, that motor Steve borrowed from Frank is doing it€™s job, and holding on, but the main worry is any unbalancing between ring spinner and chassis, as Whirligig 4.5 starts walking towards Nitro-Gene. Paul dodges the attack with ease and launches into a counter attack, and drives straight into Whirligig 4.5. The impact of Whirligig 4.5 is sent spinning across the arena, the shuffling pads digging into the arena surface, whereas the front plate of Nitro-gene suffers no damage.
Nitro-Gene makes another quick attack, wanting to attack Whirligig 4.5 before it has spun up again, as Steve dodges Paul€™s attack well, but fails to dodge the 2nd attack, however Whirligig 4.5 is bounced once more away from the front plate of Nitro-Gene, causing some lovely scars as Whirligig 4.5 stops losing control near the edge of the pit, which is open all the time, as Nitro-Gene comes driving towards Whirligig 4.5, Steve makes a quick dodge, but Nitro-Gene makes another dodge to avoid the dodge, as Steve makes another adjustment of Whirligig 4.5, but Nitro-Gene drives straight into Whirligig 4.5, sparks fly from the front of Nitro-Gene as the ring spinner causes minor damage, but the shunt backwards puts Whirligig 4.5 down into the pit.
Cease
Into the pits, as Paul looks at the minor damage caused by Whirligig 4.5 onto the front plate due to the ramming, as he smiles, knowing that the damage caused is next to nothing, and goes off pushing Nitro-Gene to the pit area so he can have a nice cup of tea and some biscuits.
Whirligig 4.5 ends up 4 and a half feet under, as Nitro-Gene moves forward onto the final, where it will meet either Seung Mina or it€™s old team mate Alpha-Rex.
Semi Final 2
Seung Mina 4 vs. Alpha Rex
It is flipper against flipper for the 2nd semi final, who will win to fight another flipper in the final, and whom will lose exiting the contest for the massively oversized slice of pizza which is the prize.
Both robots have no outstanding damage to report, as both are wheeled into the arena ready for action.

And both machines are away, not wanting to give the other machine a chance to attack, as both Seung Mina and Alpha Rex drive towards each other, and both machines hit head on, as the front flipper plate of Seung Mina manages to get underneath the front end of Alpha Rex, as Joey wishing now he had dodged the attack is on the back-foot, as the wheels of Alpha Rex are spinning trying to get traction on the arena floor, but the added mass of Seung Mina with Alpha Rex on it€™s front is winning the pushing war, as Kody is aiming Joey€™s machine towards the arena wall.
Kody depresses the button on his controller which sends CO2 though into the flipper system, which opens the flipper with an almighty force, sending Alpha Rex onto an early flying lesson crashing right though the 200 points target and crashing onto the camera tracks.

Seung Mina gets under, pushes to edge, and flips Alpha Rex out of the competition, moving onto the final.
Very impressive fights Dave, and Im overjoyed I got revenge on Whirligig...but worried about the up-coming final.
+2>The Final:
Seung Mina IV vs. Nitro-Gene 4.0: This is going to be a FANTASTIC FINAL! But one Im not too confident in me winning. Seung Minas front plate is going to be hell for me to get under, so using my superior weapon power Ill try and get under the sides and flip him up across the arena, then Ill try and ram him into the walls while he tries to self-right and flip him out.
If he gets under me, reverse using my speed geared to acceleration before he flips and escpae. If I do get flipped in the arena centre, try and out manouvre him and self-right. My main plan is to flip him as little in the arena centre as possible, but mostly push him around and try to OOTA him or pit him.
w00t! I won! But...AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! I was hoping for another bout with Whirligig! Damn you wee Dave, you win this time!
Final Seung Mina IV vs. Nitro-Gene 4.0
Right! Ignoring the fact that NG 4.0 is kinda overweight...Mina and NG been in some heats together, but never actually fought. Now shell get to smack him down personally...dont think thisll be a long fight, really.
That said, tactics. Stay in the centre of the arena for the most part. I think this will come down to who has the better leverage...so dont attack the front. He has a greater top speed but that means hell be out of control, so I may have better control. Manoeuvre around the sides and attack the corners of the skirts, the rear corners mind you, slip under, but DO NOT FLIP YET. Carry it to the wall and attempt an OOTA. If it fails, immediately try and wedge him again and go to the pit. As I get near the pit, about 7-15 feet, FLIP. I might be able to toss him into the hole from a distance.
Sorry for the delay, but I had to rewrite some parts a number of times to make me feel happier about it, but its been one of the toughest fights I have had to write for ages.
The fight against 2 vapourbots as all the house robots have gone out revisited Final
It€™s only taken me a few months to get here, but here is the final
Seung Mina IV vs. Nitro-gene 4.0
Both machines are flippers and have flipped their way to victory lately, its classic co2 against modern unpredictable nitrogen, invertible box with front wedge against an Atomic look-a-like, 2 flippers who drivers have one common goal, to get the other robot out of the arena. Nitro-gene has got the edge in the speed and is lower to the ground giving it a lower centre of mass, Paul€™s machine has also got the edge in terms of power, having 4 Lem 130€™s at 36 volts, compared to kody€™s 2 Lem 130s at 48 volts, but Kody has the better wheels. Both machines have skirts, where Nitro-Gene€™s are all around the machine in a biohazard style, the skirts on Seung Mina IV are only on the sides and are off a more simpler fashion, so it€™s rather close as is the front, Seung Mina IV with it€™s flipping plate which runs against the ground and has such a sharp edge on it that it can slice atoms up creating gateways into alternative universes. Compared to the alternative universe creating, Nitro-Gene€™s flipper extension is a tad low-tech with a thin strip of titanium attached to the underbelly designed to power underneath skirts and the like.
And so it begins, as both robots are wheeled into the arena, ready for some action, Kody is in the first control booth, and Paul is in the second control booth, with the ref having a rubber monkey mask on.

Nitro-gene is away, wheels powering it away from the starting square, as Seung Mina IV does the same, as both machines are heading towards each other in a repeat of Seung Mina IV€™s semi-final, but unlike the semi-final, both robots duck out of a straight head-to-head combat, as both machines dive away from danger before spinning around quickly and coming back towards an attack. Kody dives the attack from nitro-gene, but Paul has put on the power and has powered away from Seung Mina IV€™s range of attack, before spinning around narrowly avoiding the most embarrassing thing to do in the final and drive into the pit.
Seung Mina IV and Nitro-Gene are waiting, both drivers waiting to see what happens next, as both robots are a good 10 or so metres apart from each other, waiting for the moment in which to attack, as suddenly Seung Mina IV breaks ranks and drives towards Nitro-gene, Paul presses some buttons on Nitro-gene as it bursts into life and dodges the attack from Seung Mina IV, Kody keeping on driving before spinning around, and avoiding an counter attack from Nitro-Gene. People couldn€™t believe what I had become. Seung Mina IV spins around and drives towards Nitro-Gene, as Paul dodges the attack with ease.
And so it continues for another 30 seconds with another 3 attacks from each side, each time the opponent successfully dodging the attacks, it€™s very exciting to watch, as the audience are on the edge of their seats waiting to see which of these 2 evenly matched machines will make a mistake first, sweat is running down Paul€™s face as he dodges an attack from Seung Mina IV, and Nitro-Gene comes back into play managing to counter-dodge Seung Mina IV€™s dodge, Kody panics for a nanosecond before pulling off one of the manoeuvres of the tournament, if not the year and manages to escape from the flipper of Nitro-Gene by the edge of his teeth, as the front flipper tongue of Nitro-Gene brushing against the skirts of Seung Mina IV, as Kody puts down the power and gets a head-start, narrowly avoiding the open pit, as Nitro-Gene gives chase. Seung Mina IV turns around and drives towards Nitro-gene, creating lots of sawdust as the front flipper plate is ripping up the top layer of the arena surface, as Nitro-Gene dodges Seung Mina IV€™s attack.
However Paul has used this particular dodge before and Kody pins in a counter-dodge as for the first time both robots meet head-on, as the 2 front plates clash, but with one winner as Seung Mina IV manages to get the flipper plate underneath Nitro-Gene, as Paul puts his drive into reverse and manages to get away, before launching into a counter-attack, as Seung Mina IV is still on it€™s attack, both robots smash into each other, with Nitro-Gene managing to break underneath Seung Mina IV and fires the flipper sending Seung Mina IV onto it€™s back. Kody is in a panic again, as he self-rights Seung Mina IV, but Nitro-gene is waiting and slams into the rear of Seung Mina IV and driving towards the arena wall, presses the flipper button to send Seung Mina IV head-first in a spin, straight though the 100 points target, as Seung Mina IV lands onto camera tracks, upside down and self-rights, but for Seung Mina IV, the war is over.
Cease
Seung Mina IV put up a good fight, but in a bitter twist of fate, Nitro-Gene fired the flipper over the fence and towards the golden medal, the Harold Cross, the winner of the war, or whatever you want to call it, as Kody and Paul shake hands as the champagne is broken out, and they party hard into the night, and through the morning.
Meanwhile, a mysterious person in a darken cloak has entered into the party area, but that€™s a story for another day.
I didnt...I KNOW I didnt win...I did -
+2>!!!!!WOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!
I thought Id lose, but its great to win my 3rd minor competition this year...and its also a great achievement for Nitro-Gene 4.0 to end on a high and to beat a robot like Seung Mina IV. Unlucky to Kody, but good luck to Robot SMASH!! Series when were in the same heat
But Im not freaking out completely!
And fantastic tense battle from Dave, I thought I was going to lose, then I thought I was going to win - a brilliant fight, and brilliant tourney, and Im glad to have won it
As soon as the grudge matches are ended, I will open the doors to whats provisionally titled, Killer Toad - The final assault, as soon as I finish working out the format etc.
But it wont be a bog-standard knockout competition
