    Right... Here I Go Again

OK, Ive already announced early retirement, but Ill first get through this tournument, and THEN retire. And we wont fight this time Dave.

Forklift 2 vs. Nitro-Gene: My revised tactics for this fight is to keep him on his back, and if he self-rights, flip him again, and when he runs out of gas, leave him to be counted out. If Im running out of gas, go for the pitting/OOTA.

Avarice vs. The May Tracks Has You: As Ive said, Kody maybe.

      Forklift 2 V Nitro-Gene
Aim for the high ground clerance and try and flip it out of the arena. My lower speed should mean i am more controlled and able to get to its sides.

Oh yeah, my prediction for the other fight.

Nitro-Gene out thanks to high side ground clearance and poor control.

          Right... Here I Go Again

I now might change my plan back to the orginal, which was to flip Forklift onto its back and then make sure it self-rights onto the top of Nitro-Gene. Then throw it OOTA.

If he runs out of gas, flip him over, wait for him to be counted out, and then treat the immobilised robot like a play-toy, and flip it all over the place (If this happens) and then get rid of it via OOTAing.

If I run out of gas, open the pit (Ill do this at the start of the battle just in case) and use my pushing power to get under his skirts and then push him down.

          Will these new tactics do?

            right, lemme predict

            Forklift 2 vs. Nitro-Gene
Yeah, the one can ram the other, whereas the other can flip the one. I think this is slightly in Forklifts favour... I could be wrong.

Avarice vs. The May Tracks Has You
The two machines have good defenses against each other. Avarice might scrape through on aggression.

              Right, Here I go Again
              Semi-Finals, Fight 1

              Forklift 2 vs. Nitro-Gene

              Windmill, Windmill for the land.
              Turn forever hand in hand
Take it all in on your stride
              It is ticking, falling down

The first machine to enter the arena for the first semi-final for the place in the final is Forklift 2, who in round 1 over-came and over-powered Axe To Fall by flipping the large axe around the arena avoiding the axe before sending it over the fence

The second machine to enter the arena is Nitro-Gene, who in round 1 took compete control over Death Threat and throw it over the wall.

Both machines have the both have the same basic flipper set-up, both travel at 18 mph, both have Hardox armour, both have 6 wheel drive, the crowd are on their edge of the seats, but that might be due to the roof leaking water onto the seats, as the announcer puts down his pint glass of lager and begins to say:

              Roboteers stand-by
              3
              2
              1
              Activate

Both machines start off slowly, as both drivers are considering making the first attack, knowing that one false move could end their run in the tournament via a trip to the dark side of the fence, as the judge pushes up his glasses, looking on to see if there is any action, noting down any stylist moves, as Nitro-Gene makes a break for it, the gun shots are deafening as the body falls to the floor, not moving. Wait a moment, that€™s the wrong battle, so back to the fight, as Nitro-Gene makes the first attack of the round and moves in onto the front end of Forklift, as both machines back first contact, as the front forks of the flipper on Forklift gets underneath the front wedge of Nitro-Gene, and in no time and with a release of CO2, Martyn has flipped Nitro-Gene over onto it€™s back.

Paul€™s machine is invertible, but it€™s unclear if the flipper could self-right the machine back onto its back or will it do a 360 spin sending it back onto its top due to the power of the flipper, but Paul drives away from Forklift, which is making another move onto flipping it out of the arena as Nitro-Gene fires the flipper, sending it in a lovely arc, landing the right-way up behind Forklift, as Paul puts on full power driving towards Martyn, who sees the attack coming and dodges the attack, as both machines go head-on once more. This time it€™s the wedge extender of Nitro-Gene which gets the advantage on Forklift, as the wheels spin on Martyn€™s machine, as it tries to get away, as Nitro-Gene takes it towards the fence and Paul presses the button on his controller to fire the flipper.

Which doesn€™t fire, something must have broken during flight, a drama for Nitro-Gene, who rams Forklift into the wall, sending it spinning, as the flipper fires, sending thin air out of the arena, sadly Forklift 2 comes back onto the attack, with a direct side attack, flipping Nitro-Gene onto it€™s back, whose lack of a reliable flipper can€™t meant it can use the front wedge, as Paul reverses away and drives Nitro-Gene away from Forklift 2, Martyn spins and as both machines face each other once more, Paul jams his machine into reverse, and rams into the pit release button, sending the tyre away from the wall with some force. Forklift 2 is crossing the arena, hoping to get underneath the inverted box-wedge to send it out of the arena, but Paul has other plans, and drives towards Forklift 2, is that suicidal?

At the last moment, Nitro-Gene turns and dodges away from Forklift€™s attack, and rams into the side, the upside down wedge going up the skirts and hitting the solid side wall of Forklift, as it€™s down to a power match, as Nitro-Gene€™s added power is slightly more than Forklift€™s power to get away, but the pit is behind Nitro-Gene, so where is Paul taking Forklift 2? Over to the side wall, to the side grinders to cause lovely sparks on the side of Forklift, who manages to get away from damage with only minor damage to the paintwork, as Martyn thinks as Paul turns and gets away before Martyn could attack, the equal top speed means that neither machine can get away from each other, as Nitro-Gene spins on the wheels to face Forklift. Less than minute remains, so could this be the first match of the tournament to have to be judged by the judge, who is currently wearing a straw hat.

Nitro-gene makes another attack onto Forklift 2, as Martyn holds his nerve and stays still as Paul makes slight changes to the attack plan and rams into the front corner of Forklift, just off the flipper arm, and begins to push, slowly as the wheels start to smoke on Forklift, doesn€™t Martyn know about the smoking ban? The pit is coming up behind Forklift as Martyn puts power down onto the left wheels, turning the push and fires the flipper. The main blade might have missed Nitro-Gene, but the air rushing upsets the balance as Forklift suddenly shoots forward, spinning Nitro-Gene around as Forklift 2 turns around with 30 seconds left on the clock. Paul throws caution to the wind and drives straight at Forklift 2, but at the last moment spins around and drives away from danger, Martyn follows Nitro-Gene, which Paul spins around and dodges the attack, getting another side-on attack.

10, 9 the clock is ticking away, as Forklift is being pushed sideways towards the pit, 6, 5, getting closer, will Nitro-Gene do the business in time?, 3, 2, 1 and Forklift is down the pit, just in the nick of time, as the judge gives out a big sigh of relief.

              Cease

Nitro-Gene pits Forklift 2 in a long-battle, however how deep are those flipper problems?

              Next time:

+2>YES!!!! Utter brilliance from Mr. Sheppard! I thought I was not going to get through that fight, but I cant believe I won - without a weapon.

Just in case, I think I need to tell you that the flipper can self-right myself, as it flipped myself 540 in C&B: Extreme.

Good luck for the next contestants in the next battle.

                    Semi Finals, Fight 2

Avarice vs. The May Tracks Has You

But sister, its the opposite of hallelujah
its the opposite of being you
you dont know cause it just
                    passes right through you
you dont know what Im going through

The first machine into the arena for the right to fight Nitro-Gene in the final is Avarice, who managed in round 1 to axe Son of Ripper into losing a wheel; Kody has repaired the damage to the scoop, skirts and axe. Will it strike it lucky or hit a hot spot?

The second machine into the arena is May Tracks Has You, in round 1 Frank€™s machine managed to pit Hypo 3 after a battle of wits and flips.

Both machines are in the arena, as the announcer announces

                    Roboteers stand by
                    3
                    2
                    1
                    Activate

May Tracks is away, wanting to strike an early attack onto Avarice as Kody gets ready to dance Avarice away from danger, as Kody flicks and gets Avarice rolling on the rollers, away from May Tracks, as Avarice turns quickly and fires the axe at random, hoping to cause more than a little dent in the top of May Tracks, but Frank turns and comes back onto the attack, but once more Avarice escapes his grip.

Frank drives away from Avarice before having a think, before coming back onto the attack once more, as both machines come together, Avarice dodges once more, but Frank spins on the tracks and it€™s a game of cat and mouse as Avarice spins to get the axe into play and still trying to worm away from May Tracks, but Frank€™s machine is too quick on the pounce as the axe fires, hitting the top of May Tracks, once, twice, 3 times, as Avarice€™s defences are broken as May Tracks gets underneath the roller and fires the flipper, sending Avarice onto it€™s back.

Kody quickly fires the axe to self-right, as Frank watches and comes in onto another attack on the sides and quickly flips Avarice over once more, and for the 2nd time of the battle, Kody has to self-right his machine as May Tracks, rams into Avarice, before it has a change to fire the axe to self-right, and flips it again, as the axe fires, rolling Avarice onto the back once more. Frank comes in and yet another attack on the upturned Avarice, as it self-rights, flipping Avarice back onto its axe itself, as Kody self-rights once more, and begins to spin around on the spot to hopefully knock May Tracks off balance with the weight of the axe hitting the side.

Frank pulls back, not wanting to attack a spinning Avarice, as Kody slows down and comes back facing May Tracks, as both machine come in for another attack, Kody spinning around at the last moment, but keeping the front at May Tracks, the axe looks ready to fire, as May Tracks gets underneath the front scoop, Avarice puts all power in reverse to get off the wedge, as the spikes kick into effect, as the flipper fires at the same time as the axe, as Avarice lands on it€™s back, quickly self-rights, but the bracket holding the axe pivot is slowly coming away from the rest of the body, the repairs haven€™t held out, as Avarice spins to get out of the way of May Tracks, as Frank comes back onto another attack onto Avarice, but Kody has learnt his lesson and manages to dance away, into a spin to get the skirts into play, stopping Frank€™s wedge, as Avarice spins around once more to get another hit onto the flipper itself, as Frank spots a plan and fires the flipper as the axe comes down, bouncing the axe back onto itself, as Frank turns May Tracks around to try and get the wedge into play, but Avarice manages to get away once more.

2 minutes remain in this battle, May Tracks turns around to try and attack Avarice and the plans are beaten by the side skirts, as Frank is getting annoyed, not at the fight, but at the coffee provided, meanwhile, back in the fight, Avarice has turned away as May Tracks comes around for a rear attack, Kody flicks the controls and Avarice spins around, but May Tracks is too fast and gets underneath the front wedge and fires the flipper, sending Avarice onto it€™s back, May Tracks parks up, as Avarice self-rights straight onto the flipper, the axe looks damaged as it swings hitting the ground, as the energy continues particularly ripping the pivot away from the rest of the machine, as May Tracks starts moving towards the side way, Avarice tries to spin off the wedge, as May Tracks fires the flipper, as Avarice goes over the arena wall, the axe hitting the fence on the way down, causing it to come away from the rest of the machine, as Avarice lands.

                    Cease

May Tracks Has You, had Avarice, before it exited the arena. Frank goes off wondering for any more coffee as his machine moves into the final.

Wonderful. I can get under him from any angle. Shove him against the wall and hammer him to death. If that doesnt work, a nice grapple and pit will work wonders.

The May Tracks Has You vs. Nitro-Gene

Sorry Paul but this is as far as you get. May Tracks to exploit the side ground clearance, and use those spikes to rip the wheels, before an OOTA or pitting.

Drive under the sides then reverse and flip to tear lumps of rubber out of his wheels. Looking at that overpowered flipper, I do believe hes going to do himself some damage when self righting. Keep doing this until one of three things happens

                                1) Theres not enough rubber left on Nitro-Gene to effectively run.

                                2) He dies from flippage.

                                3) He goes OOTA.

After that, if there are any house robots (I forget, sorry)... ATTACK
