Well Pauls 6 hours have long been gone, so...

      continuing...

      Team 1

I say we all go together back to Lutetia first, said Flick. I think we can risk it, and remember what happened last time we split up, guys.

      I agree, said PMPY.

I dont, said Die-Ceratops. They turned to him. I think we should equally split up, that way theres less chance of us getting caught if we can get away fast enough. For that I think Nitro-Gene and Flick should go with Taki.

      Wha...!? Nitro-Gene was alarmed.

Chris! cried Flick. We have to stick together -

And youd rather be caught as an entire group, huh? sneered Die-Ceratops. I certainly dont, so Ill be on my way with the Gauls.

Excuse me. A voice piped up. It was Asterix, who popped the amulet over to Flick. If you wish to go to Lutetia, then we will accompany you, as we just came from the Gaulish village anyhow looking for adventure.

There you go, Chris! said PMPY. Now we can go together, and no complaints.

Die-Ceratops growled, but his vote was far outnumbered, so he had no choice but to fall in stride with the others.

But just as they came back to the village, they were immediately attacked!

Well well well, I thought you would return, you - it was one of the Centurions from before, accompanied by yet another great force, however the sight of the Gauls unnerved him and his comrades greatly . By Jupiter...not...

The soldiers again! However the sight of Asterix and Obelix has really made them scared. Fight, or no?

      ----

      Team 2

I disagree with Steve, actually, said Nidhogg. Broken bots can be really dangerous when roused. Lets free them and let them attack with us.

Joey, please. Theres already been enough mechanics shredded, said Clawdius.

And you have a brighter idea? said Nidhogg skeptically.

Clawdius twitched, but NSBFR-X went between them.

For Gods sakes, guys, the wars against them, not among ourselves, now stop it. For one I want to free the prisoners as well, but not to fight the Romans. This I say, he added, noticing Nidhoggs seething, for we could just get them killed out of hand at any moment, and I really wouldnt want that on my conscience, would you?

I sure as hell wouldnt, said Tsunami.

Nidhogg grunted. Very well, he growled. But if they get healed, Im going to get them to attack whether or no. It cant always be us vs. the world. He turned away.

Right, said Clawdius (Steve inside rolled his eyes). Mechavore, could you free them for us? Alex needs some resting up.

Gladly, beamed Mechavore, and immediately there were cries of jubilation from the prisoners as Mechavore went down the cavern, smiting the bars and locks as appropriate.

Right, now thats taken care of, lets kick some Roman tushy the ol fashioned way, smirked NSBFR-X. The group whole-heartedly agreed, even Nidhogg, and they left Mechavore to do her thing, and exited the cavern.

Ill be catching up, called Mechavore.

Ascending the walkway, which steepened a little, they came to a doorway...around it were four other doorways.

Aw crumbs, I hate when this happens, Tengu groaned.

But luckily, Clawdius went through a doorway, and heard voices ahead. This way, mateys! he called, and they scrambled through...

...only to find 50 or so soldiers waiting for them, and at their head was a familiar face.

So, we meet again, said Marcus Ignutus. It was wise to get a battalion ready, I knew you would escape. Only now I will crush you with my own power!

They stand not alone, cried a voice, and Mechavore came flying through the same doorway, and halted in front of the group.

You want them, youre going to have to go through me, snarled Mechavore.

The soldiers laughed. Right, give them a taste of our power! roared Marcus, and they advanced.

Finally, a decent-sized challenge, grinned Nidhogg.

If memory serves, NSBFR-X had a lifting plate. If so, Ill get to work on the Soliders and start lifting them over. If Marcus is still going, I can tip him up a bit. I cant flip him, but I can remove his traction and hold him in place.

Try and destroy all barring the leader.

See if we can then take him hostage as a bargaining tool later on.

            Meh, might work

Go in like a big wedge shaped thing and either tip over with the forks or flip with the wedge most of them. Cut large swathes through the army if I can, I should be able to go for the bit between the forks fairly reliably and get underneath, then return to deal with the leader in whatever form my teammates choose to ignore my suggestions for.

                continuing...

                Team 1

Its the Romans, Obelix! Lets get them! howled Asterix, and together he and Obelix charged away from the pack towards the 100 or so Roman forces.

Wait? What are you - ? Flicks interjection came too late, as the gauls slammed into the forces...and sent them flying!

Uhh...uhh...RETREAT!!! screamed the centurion, and turned away, blaring down the road back into Lutetia, yelling obscene curses. The rest of the forces tried to join him in flight, but they were simply getting pounded aside, most unable to function, or were overturned and couldnt self-right. The party gaped.

What in...how the hell did you... Nitro-Gene was apparently lost for words. Even Die-Ceratops and Taki were mildly phased. Asterix simply turned to them and laughed.

These Romans are mere footfalls of their empire, they fall like stones in a pit, he explained.

We know that! said Nitro-Gene. But howd you throw them aside so...easily?

Thats our little secret, said Asterix, a little bluntly, and none of them pursued the subject further, though Nitro-Gene looked like he would. But didnt.

So...lets resume, then? suggested Taki. The group agreed, and went down to Lutetia.
                ----
The village, surprisingly, had stayed the same as as it had before the Roman interlude. Peasants, traffickers, all sorts were still gathered there, still going about their business as usual. The town seemed to adapt to Roman interruptions often, and deal with them accordingly. How is not known, but it looked to the people that they would simply get over it and move on.

At length the group came to a merchants stand. It was a hut, no bigger than your averaged sized bedroom, and it felt filthy. The merchant itself was a wedgebot. A big wedgebot. At its point was a little shelf with some items. As the group came in, a rather rough voice said Velkom, vat vill you be haffing?

                Er...guys? Die-Ceratops asked the group.

Lets see what he has, said Flick.

Hold on, lets actually see if he accepts the damned thing, guys, said PMPV, and turning to the merchant, he said Would an amulet be of any value here?

He means this, said Taki, to the merchants quizzical look, and held it up. The merchant gasped aloud.

It is...beautiful... came the whispering reply.

How much would you trade it in for? asked Nitro-Gene excitedly.

Nothing less than 25,000 gold!!! cried the merchant. Go on, choose, my fine customers!

So much for the 7500 gold, said Die-Ceratops aside to Flick, and they chuckled as Asterix looked baffled.

So, lets choose for what we can get inside 25,000! said Nitro-Gene.

                Team 2

So the battle began, and neither side showed any mercy. Mechavore and Tengu were the main dealers of damage, and the soldiers seemed to have ineffective weaponry against the party, but Marcus Ignutus, even though he had just lost nearly 4/5ths of his infantry, put forth his own brute strength and plowed into the already weakened Tengu, and tipping him over. Before Tengu could try and self-right, the axe was upon him. Nidhogg barged in as the brute pushed Tengu back towards the wall and began hammering him, and sank the claw in...or thats what would have happened if Marcus Ignutus had weaker armour than 5mm Hardox. He spun around and smashed Nidhogg into the same wall, but Nidhogg refused to let go. It was NSBFR-Xs turn, as Tsunami and Clawdius took out the rest of the soldiers, and slid the lifter under Marcus, lifting him up. That gave him enough leverage for Tsunami to fly in and under, and tip the boss onto its back.

NO! cried the lead centurion. You unforgivable curs! Caesar will have your -

Shut up, Mechavore snarled, giving Marcus a smack with the disc. Caesar will have a taste of my teeth, thats what hell have.

Caesar, eh? Good thing I have some Roman pedigree, grinned Clawdius, coming over.

                Uh, Alex, you...okay? Nidhogg asked.

Not in the least bit, groaned Tengu. I cant use the srimech. Can someone tip me over please?

Ill do it, said Tsunami, and with a flick of the flipper, Tengu was righted.

Right...we seriously need to heal Alex now, he cant go on like this, said Clawdius.

Slight problem with that Steve, though Im all for it, said NSBFR-X, the lifter now replaced with a scoop. Where to heal him?

This is what I was afraid of, grunted Tengu. No items, and Im...kinda disabled. I cant spin up, either.

Hot damn, we gotta do something, exclaimed Clawdius.

Shall we try and meet with the others? suggested Tsunami.

NSBFR-X turned back to their surroundings. During the confrontation and battle, they barely noticed the marble hall they fought in. Ahead was another door, and to their right lay a passage much like the one right behind them, the one they came out of. He frowned internally, and turned to the others, who were still making a mess of Marcus Ignutus, the lead centurion. He was already dead, but Mechavore seemed to want him strewn across the floor in bits.

All right, all right! cried Nidhogg, as a piece of the centurion went flying right past him. Youve gotten your good ol revenge, now can we move?

Yes, yes, sorry, said Mechavore, and ceased the destruction at once.

Well, if my senses do not deceive me, said NSBFR-X, that way to the right of us will just lead on to another dungeon, so weve no choice but to go ahead.

Well said, Frank, said Clawdius. Lets go, everyone.

Ill help out Alex, if I must, growled Nidhogg, clamping onto Tengu slightly, and helping push the full body spinner along with the group.

As they made their way through the door, plain light of day shone upon them. They were outside a gate. And through that gate was...

Rome, said Clawdius. I feel it. So this is where we were bound to end up.

Rome? said Nidhogg. Err...shouldnt we try to find the others?

I require a little help, Joey, growled Tengu, a little weakly.

Thats what I meant, snapped Nidhogg. And since that fat old centurion must have thrown away our items, we have nothing to heal you with. Or maybe we can leave you alone here, like that?

                Joey, warned Clawdius. Enough.

I dont care if he has reason to complain, Im sick of it, said Nidhogg flatly. Our first task as of now should be to find the others, and Im quite sure they will have something, if anything, to take care of Alex here. And Steve, Joey inwardly rolled his eyes, you dont have much money on you, do you?

Err...no I dont, said Clawdius, a little sheepishly.

I actually agree with Joey, said NSBFR-X. We should try and find the others. Were broke, and have nothing to help Alex with.

And, uh, look over there, Mechavore pointed out; the gate had suddenly become blocked by a few meaty guards. Their armour looked thick, and they wielded great axes.

By order of Julius Caesar, none shall pass these gates unless Caesar commands it so! said one of the guards.

                Very well, sighed Clawdius.

Perhaps we could take that road, said NSBFR-X, gesturing to a stone path flanked by a grassy plain with a few trees. I think it leads back to Lutetia, but Im not sure.

Or we could go back, Tsunami went back to the door. ...the passage didnt slope up when we came through this door, did it?

                No, said Clawdius. Why?

Because apparently it goes under the ground, said Tsunami.

Well, theres some logical defiance you dont see every day, said Nidhogg.

So whats the plan, guys? The door, or the path? said Mechavore, a little impatiently.

Before we do anything else we should barter with the guards. I dont like either mine or Alexs hp levels, they might be able to sell us some stuff we could use for healing in a pinch...

And if we manage to get some medicine type things, we should try the door. If not, the path would be easier as Id rather we didnt get into encounters in the current situation.
