  • Is there anything wrong with this fight?

I wrote this fight just before I joined the forum, for a tiny competition I created from my head. Is there anything wrong with it? (Its my all-time favourite fight)

    Leprosy Infection VS Storm 2

Entered by Christopher Mason, Leprosy Infection!!
Leprosy Infection has had a highly impressive run through the tournament at the moment, and is the crowd favourite, destroying Ripoff Yet Again with ease and its deadly drum and showed it the way out of the arena. Shovearound 2 was beaten to the arena floor in round two, and ended with the audience wanting more, and they got more, and soon Shovearound 2 was NO more!

Entered by Ed Hoppit, Storm 2!!
Storm 2 has been charging well through the contest. ForcePower Turbo was flipped about and beaten on a judges decision, Storm 2 went through with Shovearound 2. In Round Two, Clawdius Decimus Murderous would have been a worthy adversary, but the damage Leprosy Infection had caused to it in Round One made it light work, as Storm 2 made it look easy in out pushing, flipping and pitting it.

Chris already has one robot, Y4, in the semi finals. He hopes Leprosy Infection will join Y4 in the semis, as he smiles away in Booth #1. Ed is slightly worried that Storm 2 might not cope with the force of the robot he€™s up against. He is still smiling though in Booth #2.

    Roboteers, stand by!!

    3€¦2€¦1€¦activate!!!

Storm 2 thunders away towards the drum of Leprosy Infection, but gets there before the drum reaches its top speed. Storm 2 pushes it back so hard the whole arena shakes under the force. Leprosy Infection is launched off Storm 2, and finally gets the drum up to speed, and hits Storm 2€™s sides, ripping the 6mm Titanium off. Storm 2 though is pushing again, and is stopping the drum again. This is surprising for the audience, as they were expecting Storm 2 to be in a number of bits by now. Storm 2 now using its lifting arm to jam the spinning drum onto the floor and stop it spinning, charging it towards the pit release, and the €˜PHUUUUUUUTTT!!!!€™ noise is made. It drops Leprosy Infection, and slams it again into the arena walls. Leprosy Infection, once again gets the drum up to speed, and comes in to ram Storm 2 on the front right corner, flipping it up, and tearing away a bit of the Titanium. Storm 2 rams it again, and Leprosy Infection self-rights it. The judges mark on the poor control from Chris Mason in allowing Storm 2 to self-right. And now Storm 2 has flipped Leprosy Infection over. As Chris gets his controls wrong, Storm 2 hits him again, and Leprosy Infection flips himself up, but loses 4 of its 6 teeth on the drum! Also, Storm 2 braces it on its lifting arm, charges it towards the arena side walls, and stacks it there. The wheels of Leprosy Infection are spinning, but there€™s no grip coming from them! Ed Hoppit spins in delight as €˜CEASE€™ is called. But he€™s told a few seconds later, that Leprosy was still mobile, and it goes to the judges. Ed looks gutted, but he€™s cheered by the audience for the performance, as the judges deliver their verdict.

    Style

Leprosy Infection and Storm 2 showed great style through the use of their weapons. Leprosy Infection used the drum and Storm 2 used its speed to dodge and lifting arm to flip. Storm 2 was more frequent and scores more points.

    Leprosy Infection: 6

    Storm 2: 9

    Control

The judges were impressed by Storm 2€™s constantly good control throughout, even though it was flipped and damaged by Leprosy Infections drum, it used Leprosy to flip itself back. Leprosy was out-controlled and pushed a lot, and so is consistently out-judged in this category

    Leprosy Infection: 5

    Storm 2: 10

    Strategy

Leprosy Infection plan was to seriously damage Storm 2, and it succeeded completely. Storm 2€™s plan was to finish it off by using the hazards, and then at the end, showed good strategy in stacking Leprosy Infection, and removing some of its teeth. Leprosy Infection was more successful, so scores more points.

    Leprosy Infection: 9

    Storm 2: 6

    Aggression

This was Storm 2€™s category. Leprosy was aggressive for the first part of the fight, but then it was shoved about the arena. However the damage done to Storm 2 gives Leprosy a smaller disadvantage than people expect

    Leprosy Infection: 4

    Storm 2: 11

    Damage

Storm 2 had huge problems in this category. True, it did remove nearly all of Leprosy Infection€™s teeth. But in closer inspection, it was discovered that, on Storm 2, the front panels had come loose, and that the chassis was in danger of coming apart on the right. The front right hand-side made of 12mm Titanium is reduced to only 2mm Titanium, and the 6mm Titanium side was completely ripped off.

    Leprosy Infection: 13

    Storm 2: 2

    Total:

    Leprosy Infection: 37

    Storm 2: 38

So Storm 2 won, but did the fight win in your eyes? Tell me about this?

No offence Samuel, but I knew that Storm 2 was damaged, but face-it - Storm 2 was more controlled and aggressive, and with the system Im using, it means Storm 2 won.

Two major points I can think of.

        1) Let us know what your judging system is, that way people wont be confused by Leprosy losing after doing so much damage.

        2) Leprosy was doing too much damage anyway. Typhoon 2 needed an entire battle to take off one piece of Storm 2, and I dont think its possible to make a drum do more damage than an FBS. Basically the one important thing to remember is that the heavier a spinning object, the more damage its going to do.

Thanks Frank, actually, I knew that Storm 2 WOULD be damaged by that, but damage isnt really important if you dominate enough. Why am I saying this. Also, I watched the Storm 2 vs. Typhoon fight, and actually it was Matilda that removed the plate.

Its funny people are complaining about the amount of damage done to Storm 2, whereas the battle before this was Leprosy Infection vs. Shovearound 2 - a 12mm Hardox robot, and Leprosy ripped it apart!

paul, you write good battles, you might take all comments here in account and youll be a great battle-writer for the future of this sport

you might notice that having competitions here on the boards, with the interaction of all contenders involved, is much more fun than making up tourneys all for yourself, besides, youre using other peoples robots, so it would only be fair to let them have their say in it

secondly, I bet wed all be thrilled to see the rest of this competition
