Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to The Fowler Fic War series 4.
However, everyone knows that I can€™t do a tournament without doing something entirely unexpected and this year it is that it will be running side by side with my 2nd tournament. The Fowler Ficxtreme war series 1.
This series is gonna be far smaller than the last 2. I€™m looking for just 9 people to enter 8 robots each. At least 2 of these robots must be realies, and without sounding discriminatory, they must have competed in the televised stages of UKRW, as I€™m not good with Battlebots nor with the robots doing the live tours ATM.
The weight classes for this war will be the same as FFW3
This will then turn into 12 heats of 6 robots, each with 2 seeds in. In the event of their being an overwhelming response I will allow an extra 3 places, so don€™t think that you can€™t put your name down if there€™s already been 9, you just need an extra 2.
An important point is with regard to stats. I will not be bugging you for extra information. What it says in your stats is FINAL. However, to that end, what I say goes. If you make your robot too big, or with incorrect dimensions, or overweight, it will only be told at the time. In the same way if I believe a robot is unrealistic and would just destroy itself, I will write it as such.
The arena for this war will be a mix of all the different arenas I used for FFW2. and I€™m calling it the circle of doom. It, as the name suggests is an entirely round arena, with a hemispherical wall going all the way around and over the arena, eliminating the possibility of OOTA€™s. at each 90 degree point around the arena there is a buzzsaw sticking through the side and in between then at 45 degrees, is a flame pit. There is a pit in the centre of the arena, however spikes, which only lower half way into the fight, surround it. Therefore, up until this point, unless you flip another robot into the pit, the arena is virtually harmless to anything other than a KO until half waypoint.
There are no house robots to interfere, leaving less options of how to win. The arena is designed to be a test of everything from tactics to destructive capability.
Now to explain the extreme part of the tournament:
Allstars - This is not to be entered by you, it will be the 16 robots with best ranking scores through the first 3 series of FFW
Mayhem + Annihilator - Each of the 9 entrants, must enter 2 robots into the frame to try and get through to the annihilator. If we go up to 12. The mayhems will just have 4 robots each.
Challenge Belt - 1 entry from each roboteers
Wild Card Warriors - Again 1 entry from each roboteers, each 1 will fight one of the entries into the allstars tournament.
Continental Challenge - Each roboteers must enter 1 robot to go up against a foreign realie of my choice.
The world championships - This will be a 32 robot competition in a separate thread at the end of FFW4 (while the other events will happen between the heats and the semis) The 36 robots will be as follows:
The 12 robots that got into the series semis
The 9 winners of the continental battles.
The top 8 in the allstars contest
3 wild card places going to robots I feel worthy.
In the event of us having 12 entrants, then the 3 wild card places will go. Also in the event of a robot qualifying twice as it were, I will ask the roboteers to name one of their other machines to take it€™s place.
No roboteers may enter the same robot into more than one event. So pick your events carefully.
Any questions, don€™t think twice about asking.
LET THE WARS BEGIN!!!!!!
