100 pounds?! Curse my abysmal decision making skills... Well, Im not opening that can of worms. =P
Super Gore: TD vs. Storm II
Well, hes got more pushing power than I do, and a bit more speed. However, my weapon is extremely destructive, and sturdy, thanks to the shockproofing. Tear his wedge off, tear his armour off, tear his internals out, and tear his pride down.
Danger? PAH! I laugh at danger! I pour ice cubes down the underpants of common sense!
DIE CERATOPS TACTICS
TAN has a fairly high ground clearance, which is perfect for flipping, and the dimensions of DC mean that the only way TAN could grab it is at the back. The real question is how many flips Ill need.
The Deer V M2
The good thing is The Deer works both ways up. So basicly try and get M2 in the claws and either damage something on the inside or shove it into the pit.
Matt, can you explain this thing about gambleing the money as i dont understand it
as a matter of fact, my 4WD lembot has a better drive system than Tornado... I can ram him all day, I can axe his top (how powerful is it? I think Ill have little problem piercing it) and I can... continue doing so
Right, the boxes have been opened, the lights are up it€™s robot fighting time
4 fights for you today, and possibly the next today, or however long it takes me to write them (It€™s Thursday ATM BTW :wink
I€™m warning you now that for this tournament I will not be bothering with intros to the robots as it€™s my ability to write fights I need to redevelop, no my ability to write intros
First up it€™s Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus against Tough As Nails

Activate!
It€™s a tentative start from both machines, as neither of them seems to particularly want to make a mistake, Die-Ceratops is the first to approach his opponent though and tentatively prods at the claws with the base of his flipper. He fires, but it only catches the end, causing TAN to wheelie and fall back to the floor again. Tough As Nails that his only chance is to get around the back, and this is what he€™s trying to do, but to no avail as the 2 machines start a tentative waltz, both eyeing each other up like cowboys before a duel. Die-Ceratops spies a wheel and pokes the flipper underneath it, firing, but just rolling over TAN in cow-tipping style. The TAN team know that they have some work to do, and see an opening at the side of Die-Ceratops from being unable to cover the angle when they flipped them over. TAN tries to shut the claws but they merely scrape the 8mm titanium and Die-Ceratops emerges virtually scathe free. It does give him an opportunity to push the dinosaur though, but Chris gets away fairly easily, just reversing and turning to bring his flipper to the front once more. TAN tries to turn away, but Chris drives in fast enough to get the wedge under the wheel, he fires the arm, but by the time he€™s pushed the button TAN has just rolled off the wedge and back to the floor. Having driven off the wedge, TAN begins to push against the side of Die-Ceratops with his back panel slowly edging him backwards, Die-Ceratops however merely turns, and has TAN immediately stranded on his wedge. It€™s the first real attack of the match and turns out to be the last, as Chris drives his machine toward the arena wall, and presses the big red button, causing the end of the world for TAN as he flies out of the arena, leaving the financial advisors of this tournament in tatters.
CEASE
Congratulations to Chris who€™s just put 25,000 Virtual Pounds on the board€¦ for now.
Next up is Super Gore TD against Storm 2.

Activate!
Storm 2 immediately tries to prove that it€™s worth far more than the 100 pounds that Kody€™s fighting for, and charges at the front of Super Gore, straight into the disc. Sparks fly but nothing more as both machines do a single spin, before trying to resume the fight, This time though Storm responds quicker and flies at the side of Super Gore and sends him into the arena wall. He fires the lifter but it€™s fairly ineffectual and if anything hinders his attack as Super Gore falls off the wedge of Storm 2, he uses the opportunity to spin his disc up, and runs off, only for Storm 2 to catch him and slides under the back, slamming him into the wall once more, this time sending the disc into the wall head first. Sparks fly once more and both robots are sent spinning backwards by the force. Super Gore runs away again to spin up his disc, but this time when he sees Storm 2 coming after him spins around, slamming into him with the disc, Storm 2 spins off like a maddened Whirling Dervish, while Super Gore flies through the air before coming to land. It€™s only when Storm 2 comes to rest that it€™s obvious that one of the smaller panels that make up the front wedge has fallen totally off. He also appears to be moving a little more sluggishly though whether this is technical or just a little more caution being operated isn€™t evident. Storm 2 doesn€™t know where to go though, as Super Gore€™s been able to spin his disc back up to full speed. He holds still though, waiting for Storm 2 to approach him. He tries to fly past to get around to the side or rear but Kody just turns his machine, and it slides straight down the side of Storm 2 opening a massive gash In his side. He€™s still running though, albeit looking more wounded by the minute. He€™s moving more sluggishly and smoke is beginning to appear around him. Kody sees his chance to finish the fight off and runs over to the Pit Release button, which causes the pit to descend immediately. Storm 2 would usually be overjoyed with that but knows he is in no position to shove anything right now and is limping around the arena like a lost sheep. Super Gore shoves the sorely depleted Storm 2 towards the pit, and Storm seems to make no effort to try and escape the inevitable. He falls down and the smoking machine joins the pits smoke, while Super Gore is just plain smoking.
CEASE
Congrats to Kody, even if he has only added a preliminary 100 VP to his account.
Welcome back to Bank or No Bank where we are going to see the next 2 battles of the series.
First up we have Axe To Fall fighting Tornado for 75 grand.

Activate!!!
Immediately both machines leave their blocks and try and push their pushing strengths on show. Axe To Fall is the quicker across the arena, but Tornado has the better acceleration and so the 2 still meet in the centre of the arena. There is a huge amount of wheel spin as the 2 wedges grind out, but it€™s eventually Martijn€™s machine that gets the better of the UK robot wars series 6 champion, and begins pushing him backwards towards the arena wall. He then brings the axe down, but it lands right on the main constructive chassis of Tornado and does very little damage. Axe To Fall backs off to get another slam but the acceleration of Tornado pays off as he flies across the arena and gets away, immediately turning on his aggressor and slamming into his side. Superior drive is all good for Martijn, but you can€™t push back when you€™re being attacked from the side. Tornado slams Axe To Fall into the fence and the side angle grinder send sparks flying as it meets with polycarbonate, slicing through the first few millimeters. Tornado backs off, allowing Axe To Fall to turn, meaning the 2 fronts to face. The speed of tornado takes him straight onto the front wedge of Axe to Fall, who uses it€™s eponymous weapon, crashing straight down onto the lid of Tornado going straight through the polycarbonate top. He then uses his superior drive to push him right across the arena. The axe however, seems to be stuck, and Martijn is being told to release him, but can€™t. However, after a few repeated slams he manages to pull it out, but it goes back into its slot somewhat lethargically, and it€™s possible that this will now become merely a battle of the pushers. That€™s one fight that Axe To Fall definitely seems still able to win though, as he slides the wedge underneath the side of Tornado and begins to push him to the sidewall once more. He slams down the axe, but it€™s obviously running at far less pressure, as it slams down on the polycarbonate again and barely pierces it. This time at least it come straight back out. Martijn tries to readdress his line and does so driving forward with another slam of the axe. This time he get sa lucky shot and takes out one of the go-Kart tyres, which immediately begins to deflate to the visible eye. He lets Tornado go, and in accordance with Axe To Fall€™s weapon begins limping and looking very half-anused. Axe To Fall uses the slower advances of Tornado to open the pit, and immediately catches up with him again. Tornado isn€™t giving up though and avoids the advance, and manages to get under the side of Axe To Fall in the process. He€™s pointing away from the pit however, and his haste to try and turn he drops the Dutch roboteers machine almost as soon as he got him onto the wedge. Martijn has had enough of mucking around though and so gets him on the wedge again. He heads on a beeline for the pit, but misses with his charge, slamming tornado into the wall and dropping him. Tornado gets him onto the wedge again, but this time doesn€™t try and turn him into the wall but just makes a lethargic, ineffectual slam into the wall. Martijn fires the axe in frustration, and clips the top of the machine but with no damage. Tornado backs off and allows him off, but forgetting about his slowed down speed, meaning Axe to Fall catches him almost imminently, this time trapping him on the wedge with a direct line to the pit. He makes no mistakes this time, sliding over to the pit and reversing to drop Tornado straight in it. 3 out of 3 for the vapours.
CEASE
Axe To Fall is victorious! A provisionary 75 grand for Martijn.
And the last fight is between Martijn€™s alternatively spelt name sake Mr. Martyn Forsyth, and his vapourbot The Deer is taking on M2 for the grand total of 5 virtual grand.

Straight from the start this fight begins looking like a total mismatch, as The Deer slides across the arena, and begins traversing around M2 who simply cannot keep up. The problem The Deer has though is that he can€™t get to the rear of M2, which is the only place from which he can get a good grip on the deceptively large former semi-finalist. M2 knows this and in a tactic more accustomed to spinning robots, begins spinning madly in circles trying to prevent The Deer getting anywhere near him. Martyn however, is unafraid and charges headlong into the spinning vortex of polycarbonate and gubbins, sending both machines flying backwards. M2 realises that The Deer is unaffected by the spinning, and so gives up, prompting him to charge headlong himself at The Deer€™s claws. This tactic is far more successful, as he gets under a claw and throws him over, however The Deer is invertible and this flip has little to no effect. Martyn only appears maddened by this attack and flies back into him with the claws, seemingly uncaring of what part he gets. He manages to clamp the front and begins tearing through the side panels. However M2 still fires the flipper. The result is intriguing as the 2 machines just overbalance and end up both pointing floorwards. The Deer continues to crush, and a mass of CO2 begins to appear suggesting that he may have damaged the pneumatics system. He then lets go, leading to both robots falling to the floor. M2 gets under the claws again and shoves The Deer into the fence, trying to flip him out. He fires the flipper, a mass of gas and a half-hearted flick. He presses the button again, a twitch. He fires it again. Nothing. M2 knows he€™s beaten barring a miracle and so backs off. The Deer flies into his front end again and begins re-opening the wounds created earlier. He drives him straight into the pit release button, and decides not to prolong the inevitable, turning straight around and dropping him straight into Oblivion.
CEASE
Me - The first round through and 4 out of 4 for the vapours. 5 grand is provisionally in the bank account for Martyn.
And so to explain the banking. I will now ask you to bank or no bank before the next fight. If you bank. The amount of money you won in these fights is safe, no-one can take it away from you. If you say no bank, then whatever amount of money is in the next box you pick, will be doubled if you win the fight. If you lose the fight however, you lose EVERYTHING!
So, Kody, Chris, Martign and Martyn, I ask you now. Bank... or No Bank?
