meh, look at it this way... theres always less activity here during vacation, and..
little activity + less activity = no activity

    or something like that

there are several tourneys over here... Chris realie tourney and Matts FanFic among them, where I do suspect fights sooner or later... just not during the holidays... AND...

MECHANICAL NOISE - SERIES 2 SIGNUPS WILL OPEN THIS MONTH!

I havent been able to do much lately for I spent my vacation with my parents, where internet tends to suck... vacations almost over though... which is a bad thing for me, but a good thing for FanFic!

True. Its the holidays, and despite the fact that it leaves plenty of time to write battles, Ive been relaxing too much. Having said that, the next fight in the annihilator has been started.

All right, lets get down to business! Heres Heat C!

Aquarius (5) vs. Flipping Mad vs. Leprosy Infection

            Aquarius
is the fifth seed of C&Bt, and he well earned it, with that awesome 340 degree flipping arm. Its powered by dual 5kg CO2 tanks and can flip at 3000PSI. The body shape is like BB middleweight Psychotron, except the wheels arent as exposed. Its powered by 2 LEM130s: at 25mph, this is one of the fastest 2WD bots in this tournament. It also has 12mm titanium armour too! Can it achieve a status higher than No. 5?
C&BT1: Beat Kali, Y4, and Axeon in Heat A, before losing to the champion, Salamander III, in the finals.

Flipping Mad may have been named because Dave Sheppard was flipping mad when making this bot , but that doesnt mean its all gone to seed! This veteran is a skirted box with a scoop-like front, on which rests a gigantic flipper, though powered by a single CO2 tank. Sports 4WD and 6mm titanium, half as much as Aquarius. Older than life itself, will Flipping Mad surprise everyone?
            C&BT1: Did not enter.

Leprosy Infection, by Christopher Mason, is unchanged from last season. Its still got its Tetanus Booster-like shape, its front plough, its EXTREMELY dangerous spinning drum, and its 7mm titanium. It also retains its wheel flap, its curved teeth on the drum, its 4wd invertibility, and its vomit-inducing lime green colour. Ready to be sick?
C&BT1: Lost to Wedge Devolution in Heat B.

            Roboteers, stand by...

            Booth 1: Leprosy Infection, Aquarius
            Booth 2: Flipping Mad

Double Big Mac isnt the one youd want to take out of this match, especially when hes accompanied by none other than Exa-Gore-Ic: AI.

            3...
            2...
            1...
            ACTIVATE!

The team-up against Flipping Mad is on! And to be quite honest, it doesnt look like Flipping Mad can do much...well see. In comes Aquarius with his own and more powerful flipping arm. He and Flipping Mad crash into each other, neither able to get underneath the other, when Leprosy Infection enters the fray.
            CRASH!
A nasty hit to the side of Flipping Mad leaves the right side skirt 25 feet away from its owner! Flipping Mad is more worried about whats happened to himself: hes been flung upwards and onto Leprosys drum! And that allows Aquarius to slide under the now slightly tilted front flipper of Flipping Mad! FLIP! Flipping Mad not only crashes down onto its back, but its rear end raises up a little too! Good force on Aquarius flipper there! Leprosy, thankful that Flipping Mad is off his drum, backs away to rev up that deadly force of metal-tearing viciousness and strike with it once more, only to find Flipping Mad has wisely retreated away. Aquarius is regrouping and taking an aggressive stance to Flipping Mad. Flipping Mad meets the charge head-on and BAM! both bots are jolted again! Uh oh, here comes Leprosy again, but Flipping Mad has slipped out of the way, and Leprosy better watch out for the arena wall! Thankfully he does. Meanwhile Aquarius is chasing Flipping Mad down, and Flipping Mad turns around: BANG! The fronts meet again and cancel out, but this time Aquarius is knocked onto Flipping Mads scoop by the jolt, and FLIP! Aquarius is inverted...and that makes no difference because Aquarius is the same either way up! But Flipping Mad is coming in for another attack, and Aquarius now is the one to turn...BANG! Flipping MAd barrels onto Aquarius and the wedges are again unable to penetrate the other. In comes Leprosy Infection again with the drum, and Flipping Mad tries to reverse away. No good.
            CRASH!
The 6mm titanium didnt take too well to THAT hit: shards of titanium litter the floor! That is one powerful drum! Aquarius took advantage of the interruption and is now under Flipping Mad. FLIP! Flipping Mad gets a taste of his own medicine, now inverted! Aquarius shoves him against the wall as the latter tries to self-right, and does so: right back onto Aquarius, that is. FLIP! Again Flipping Mad is inverted.
            CRASH!
Leprosy crashes into Flippings left side, tearing off the skirt! This hit shunts the crippled Flipping Mad off of Aquarius, but Tony wants to see that bot dead. FLIP! Aquarius flipper finds Flipping Mads left side and tosses him over. Flipping Mad rights himself, but is too late to stop an incoming charge from the seemingly persistant Leprosy Infection.
            CRASH!!!
And the flipper has taken MAJOR damage! Its all bent up at the front, and some small pieces have been removed from the edge! Leprosy Infection is the one to watch in this fight! But Aquarius isnt too keen on letting Leprosy have all the fun, and sliding the arm under Daves broken bot tosses him! FLIP! Flipping Mad is thrown across the arena and almost into a CPZ but thankfully just out of reach of Exa-Gore-Ics claws. Its about to get in reach though as Aquarius shoves him right in there! Double Big Mac instantly leaves his CPZ and weve got a melee! Ooh, Leprosy Infection has taken a shot from the arena saws there, and some sparks have flown, but hes resilient to the hit! Flipping Mad however is not so resilient. Exa-Gore-Ic has clamped upon his sides and begun to squeeze squeeze SQUEEZE the life out of him.
            CRASH!
WHOA! Aquarius has just taken a shot from Double Big Macs hammers, and a panel off the back has been removed! But this also means that DBM is now completely out of control, and goes all gyroscope city until he crashes onto his head. Aquarius seems to be okay, and now hes all AWOL on Flipping Mads rear end. FLIP! Flipping Mad AND Exa-Gore-Ic are tossed up a bit, but come back down. Hey! Leprosy Infection charges into Exa-Gore-Ics side!
            CRASH!!!
Ouch! That hadda hurt! Yes it did, especially if Exa-Gore-Ic is suddenly streaming smoke! The big house bot releases Flipping Mad, who (FLIP!) is tossed onto him by Aquarius. Leprosy charges Exa-Gore-Ic again, no drumming action visible. Exa-Gore-Ic is pinned by Leprosy, Aquarius AND Flipping Mad, and cant move! Aquarius lets out a mighty steam snort (FLIP!) sending Exa-Gore-Ic keeling up, almost onto his side, and Aquarius races under him. The Watcher comes over to try and put a stop to this madness but its no use. Aquarius finally tosses the big guy over (FLIP!) but Flipping Mad is rolled over and stuck in the CPZ between his two evil enemies. Not that he can do much, for Aquarius slides under the bent flipper and...you guessed it. FLIP!

            CEASE!

Flipping Mad needs to see a physician.
Aquarius (5) and Leprosy Infection advance to Round 2!

Next battle: Breed vs. Rogue vs. Firestorm V

            Predictions, tactics, and SOME activity...please?

Firestorm will look for a tea-up with Rogue, or just go for whatever part of Breed is closest. After seeing how Firestorm flipped S3 OOTA, and considering the low weight of both parts of Breed, its OOTA Ill be aiming for

Martijn, what I think you might wish to try is to get around the rear of Rouge and shove the spinning disc into Breed. If it doesnt kill one of the parts, itll certainately flip it.

If Rouge doesnt lose the first round and Firestorm does, then Aquarius might win again. If Rouge loses, then Ill go for Rouge.

All right, Ive got a battle up fer yeh!

Breed vs. Rogue vs. Firestorm V

                            Breed
is a clusterbot by Andrew Jackson. Interestly its named after a song by Nirvana. Even the names of the clusters themselves refer to that song. You Can Plant A House (YCPAH) has a rear spinning drum powered by a Mag, while its twin, You Can Build A Tree (YCBAT) has a linear-actuated lifting arm. They both have that wedge shape with rounded rear and sides, a 3.25mm hardox monocoque chassis, and LEM130 drive! Each cluster weighs 50kg, so its pretty easy to throw these guys, though.
C&BT1: Beaten by Shovearound 2 in the first round of Heat F.

Rogue, a newcomer to the C&BT, was made by Aaron Knight. It has a extremely intimidating horizontal disc, tilted down slightly. This is because it is powered by a chainsaw and an Astroflight motor! Using those, it gains a 2500rpm spinning speed, a 273km/h tip speed, and 32kJ of force on every full blow! Its chassis is 8mm of titanium/vanadium monocoque alloy and its drive speed is 12mph, but it doesnt look like it can self-right properly...
                            C&BT1: Did not enter.

Firestorm V is one of the most revered and respected combat robots in the history of the sport since Series 3 of Robot Wars, where he debuted. It mimicks Rogues speed of 12mph, though slightly faster, and it has a front-hinged penumatic flipper. Its armour is composed of aluminum and it is quite nippy thanks to its go-kart wheels. If you wish to defeat Firestorm, you had better take advantage of its poor pushing power. Its rear is also prone to assault. Martijn M Benschop was the one who entered Firestorm V in this tournament.
                            C&BT1: Did not enter.

                            Roboteers, stand by...

                            Booth 1: Firestorm V, Rogue
                            Booth 2: Breed

Its time for another house bot appearance as the big bad boys Ancalagon the Black and Exa-Gore-Ic: AI are set to go.

                            3...
                            2...
                            1...
                            ACTIVATE!

There goes Firestorm V right after Breed, who has immediately split and the twins are looking to do some damage. Rogue is out and about too, not really caring what its disc runs into. Speaking of running into things, heres YCBAT with a brave charge at Firestorm, but no go! In fact, it was Firestorm who got under YCBAT, and threw him a good way across the arena! And that signals YCPAH to ram Firestorms side with the wedge, but another no go as the RW7 2nd seed drives right over the front wedge and rams YCBAT. YCBAT just avoids the charge but is too late to avoid a hit...from Rogue!
                            CRASH!!!
Ooh, that just had to leave a mark. YCBAT is knocked right over Firestorm wedge and right into an empty CPZ! ...what?! There is no mark?! Well then, that 3.25mm hardox sure stood up to that, but heres what it wont stand up to: a house bot weighing about 15 times as much cornering you and trying to grab you with its gigantic jaws! With YCBAT busy, Firestorm searches for the other Breed twin, YCPAH, and realizes that he doesnt need to, for YCPAH has found him! A slam to the rear, and Firestorms wheels leave the ground! WHAM! Into the wall goes the fiery bot, but Rogue doesnt want to be left out, and just nicks the pit release button so as to avoid ripping it completely out, but unfortunately the power of that spinning blade has caused damage to it. Oi, we are NOT allowing you to destroy the arena! And Ancalagon comes out of the CPZ to deal out the bill of punishment! This means YCBAT is freed from that CPZ but has sustained some damage to the side from one of the discs next to those jaws, and OH WHATS THIS?! YCPAH HAS BEEN THROWN OUT OF THE ARENA!!! Look at this: Firestorm recovering from that earlier ram, getting straight in underneath the side, and tossing them right over the wall! They knew about the weight disadvantage and they performed perfectly! This means that Breed is out of the picture, since one of the clusters has been taken out. Oh, and there goes YCBAT, straight into the pit because theres nothing better to do.

                            CEASE!

The weight disadvantage comes back to bite the Breed right in the...well Id rather not say where.
Rogue and Firestorm V advance to Round 2!

                            Round 2

                            Aquarius (5) vs. Rogue
                            Leprosy Infection vs. Firestorm V

                            Tictacs and pre-diddly-ictions in, please.

I predict that Aquarius is going to take advantage of Rouges scimech issues, and the aluminium armour of Firestorm V to be crushed by Leprosys drum.
