Youre not a girl so you wouldnt know. Check my profile for an idea of my new look that will probably debut at Brighton.
I also hereby use my perogative as a girl to change my mind at very short notice......now where did I put those bunny ears?
On the other side, I can imagine you would have a following of drooling boys.
Paul, why the choise for a dual pressure system? You need low pressure to operate the ballvalve.
Isnt that a pity of the weight?
Also, with the size of the ram compared to the buffertanks, I think a valve like that, with the 22mm let trough overall, youre not winning much compared to 2 burkerts parallel.
Oh well, it will work beautifully.
And I still think the next generation of sremechs will be augmented with gyrostabilizers, steering fins, parachutes and trusters.
Mario, yes the ball valve system weighs more than a single solenoid valve but performance is many fold greater - so worth the weight. I have run many calculations optimising flowrate, buffer tanks and geometry and this set-up offers by far a better performance than two Burkerts but it is only theory. We will just have to wait and see what happens in practice. Did I mention it is also variable pressure, I can set the flipper pressure from 10 to 50 bar from the transmitter during the fight - so I get lots of M2 flips at lower pressures or a few Gravity style flips when I want them.
Gravity III had a lot of flips in it. Thanks to the use of buffertanks, and the measures undertaken not to inject liquid in the ram itself.
The use of 2 2 kg bottles didnt hurt in itself either. But that took needed space and weight.
But the adjustable power can come in handy, when running in less than all out arenas.
The valve has a flow rate equivalent to over twenty 1/2 Burkert type solenoid valves.
Statement from MX2T website ..
The valve is a 1€ BSP ball valve operated by a 25mm bore, 80mm stroke auxiliary ram. The smallest bore at any point in the circuit from the buffer tanks to the piston is 22mm diameter!
Umm ...Perhaps Im missing something here Paul ..( I probably am ) .... I realise the 1/2 Burkert is 12mm bore and has a Kv of 2 ....making the Cv 2.3 ish ...and the Cv of a 1 hole is summat like 13 ....making the flow rate closer to 5.6 times that of a single 1/2 Burkert valve ... plus of course your 22mm restriction bringing the Cv down even lower to approx 10 ... and therefore making the flow rate even less ?
I may have made a mistake converting Kv to Cv ...It might be 1.7 not 2.3 ..But the math still doesnt seem to add up.
And now for something completely different.. quote:
Ian I like the pink armour! quote:
Paul Pink! thats hardox rust. Talking about pink armour, Ive just ordered a pink Zeobot shell for my daughter, what is it with girls and pink?
Hummm....now back on topic please.
