  • Voltage drop issue help

I have a 12v led strip 5m long that runs on a psu at 3a (max rating for led controller) when I connect a 5m extension between the led's and PSU the lights are not working.
I think I have a voltage drop as when I tested the extension lead with a multimeter for an open circuit it was all fine. anyone know how I can overcome this?

    Bigger cable has less resistance.

If the psi is adjustable increase the owner supply voltage slightly 13.8v is quite normal.
