That sounds good, that way it keeps it very even and experienced builders won't dominate the weight class

I can understand banning ti, but maybe limiting thickness of Hardox would be better than banning it, it seems to have become a fairly standard armour type over the years.

Also, a Calcutta Cup replica made of Hardox to the winner

Umm I'm gonna vito the hardox one right away if i'm involved in making a kinectic energy axe! One of the few materials I can use that will stand up to the abuse involved and allow me to protect both the internals of the bot and the external audience if anything goes wrong with it. HDPE ain't so great at what i have in mind :P

External armour wise for the rest of the bot I have no problem in dropping hardox out of the equation

I think if they can get some proper rules drawn up then I think this class could really take off

standard distance for any event! Even if there is no competition for it at the edinburgh event, then i think we will still try and build one for it. See if we can't inspire a few people to throw something together from spare parts.

Will be a few weeks before we start the build, Uni exams etc getting in that way of that a bit. But i suspect it will be thrown together fairly quickly so there possibly wont be many photos. Maybe the odd test run or something.

suppose we could take them at the end of each day of build. All depends on if we have a camera handy or not.

If Jamie's there there will probably be a camera close by

I've decided I'm not going to bother with my axe featherweight for RL Edinburgh (I'm not 100% happy with the design, keep changing things and ideally need to make my workshop before I make it). Instead I'm just going to focus on making Carcinus and repairing Drumroll, so I should have more time to dedicate to a Team Scotland middle
And I usually have a camera handy

EDIT: Tony beat me to it!

awesome. Realised that i can get boner running for a featherweight comp (minus the drum of course ). Think I'd best let my parents know that there may be a couple more joining them for a crazy build session in a few weeks time
