bit of a catch 22 Tom, id like to build one as they are more managable than a hw, but i wouldnt take the plunge until i saw more on the scene first. which is probably what others who are tempted to build one would think.
surprises me that their isnt more around. thought this weight would be more popular
Yea, Would be cool if a few people with them spare parts lying around doing nothing would throw somting together.
or even a cluster. Few people could get together on a cluster
well i got a couple of hawkers sitting there, some iskras and some bits of hardox kicking around. Problem if i build one is that its likely to be a spinner
meh its just no fun if you arent spinning a piece of metal to a high speed!
Lol nice vid Tom, been a while since I last seen that
Mind you I do have a bunch of LP pneumatics in the shed.....
Maybe after the summer when i have more time on my hands, and hopefully more cash. Although Im planning to win the euromillions on Friday so that should come sooner rather than later.
I might build one, my heavy might end up too light. Would be an easier catagory to become champion of if theres only 3 or 4 knocking around, lol. Mind you, I think if you build a robot and it ends up a middleweight, just pile armour on until its a heavy, cos to build a heavyweight on my own has always been my aim.
God, Typhoon Rover weighed 65kg? Lol, put a spinner on it and its back in business!
typhoon rover could have easily dropped down to a middleweight. It had 4 hawkers in there!
The drive was straight out of typhoon 2 along with the two vantec speedos. I have the barebones chassis sitting in my shed but it would need a layer of armour to beef it up for the arena.
