Any idea what kind of plastic the wheels of Gabriel were made with?

They were HDPE wheels I believe.

The entire thing was constructed out of HDPE - i don't know how thick.

As demonstrated with Gabriel - it tends to wack out of shape or bits fly off, rather than total devastation, so you can usually take a few hits before things get seriously bad for you - as demonstrated with its survival against Carbide.

edit: Robot Wars Wikia says its 25mm thick

There is a steel frame core which the HDPE, hubs etc bolt onto

There was also a little bit of metal (steel from the look of it) for armor in certain areas.
