  • Lynch for drive

Hi guys, have any of you had any experience using lynch motors as drive?.. it's the 24v 170 126 ones, would there be a esc capable of handling them? Or is using these as drive very out dated?! Cheers

you mean lynch lem motors ? if so yes people have used them as drive (storm2, Behemoth has some IIRC) and THIS build log will be helpful. Worth noting that Storm2 swap from using lem 170 (IIRC) to other motors is because they didn't have the greatest relibity on the live circuit and are costly to replace and repair

With the money needed to get a Lynch drive reliable you can build a brushless drive with as much power, lower weight and higher reliabiliy.

Lynch motors are pretty good, been using a LEM 200 to power the disc in Supernova since 1998 no problems with it. Ridiculous torque when used with a contactor.

Brushless is the future once you have robust motors and solid controllers that can provide good low speed control and torque.

Storm 2 used LEM130s, the newer version of this motor had quality issues in its manufacture the older version was more robust. Behemoth use the older version well.

Did you bid on the motors that just sold on ebay?
