  • CIM-2 motors and gearboxes mounting

Ive got a pair of CIM-2s and the gearboxes. What are the best ways of mounting them to the body of the robot? Up until now, Ive used large exhaust clamps on the motors, which, of course, is entirely the wrong way and I should clamp the gearboxes themselves.

Yes but it has been shown to me how you could link the two gearboxes together with lengths of studding through the 4 bolt holes in each gearbox and then fix the combined unit to the base, clamping at the end of each gearbox. I was just wondering what other schemes there might be from the many who may have used these motors.

        Hi Julian
if you have access to welding can you make a 90 deg bracket and use the holes in the gearboxes

carnt be any harder than mounting bosches some people use the 3 small bolts

Craige its your fault building a Heavey now they are after you !!!!

I think team Roobarb had some good pictures on there website about mounting those gearboxs. Not sure what the link is though, if its still online as the team I think retired. Some ones bound to have the teams e-mail adress though, they might send you the pics if you ask nicely.
