Power link

Hi all,

where is best location for a safety power link ?, how large does it have to be ?. I can't find any examples on the build diary page.

We use a EC5 in Bullfrog, and a tripple EC5 in Kan-Opener.

Location, where you can reach it easely.

Easy to reach, but also reasonably well out of the way of any weaponry or such that could pose a hazard when reaching for the link.

No rule on size. As Mario mentioned, EC5 connectors are an option. You also get smaller EC3 connectors as well as Deans connectors which can be used as a removeable link. You can also get a bit creative, one of my earlier robots used a cut off household plug with a loop of wire in it. I wouldn't advise this for combat though, they pop out of the socket too easily.

Do your self a favor and use something that everyone else uses... that way if you loose your link before a fight/it ends up under the arena (this does happen) you can borrow someone else's.

With featherweights I use a fuse as the link it is required for LiPo batteries and there easy to replace.
