    Speed control help

    In English:
Not trying to offend you but building a speed controler for a heavyweight is very difficult unless you just want on and off control.

Unless you are an electronic engineer I would not try to build a proportional speed controler.

Here is an on off reverse speed controler diagram by bugs:

    Ian Mc Donald.

would a speed controller relying on a servo and microswitches pass a tech check?

hear my latest efforts to develop a speed controller http://www.chompalot.co.uk/motorcont1.htmwww.chompalot.co.uk/motorcont1.htm

      Si

        You could try ...

They might be generous and give you a couple.

        Or purchase some from http://www.technobots.co.uk/en-gb/dept_68.htmlhttp://www.technobots.co.uk/en-gb/dept_68.html

As long as you use a failsafe on the servo a relay drive system will pass the techcheck. Ive seen several fethers and heavys running on relays.

            thx very much.

It is possible construct a circuit to connected directly to the receiver, to creat an on off reverse speed control??

Just use a servo such as this:
              http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk/B305%5FServo-4834.htmhttp://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk...Servo-4834.htm

That is what the white cross represents. You will also need one of these on each servo:

Have a look at the middleweight section. My idea to use the original wheelchair controllers worked by servos was best, of course.

                          Speed control help

You are using wheel chair motors so you would need something like:
70amp SPDT relays (sometimes called 70amp SPCO relays)

                          Regards
                          Ian

                            thx, what means SPCO?

                              Speed control help

SP means single pole, which means there is one moving contact in the relay. CO means change-over, which means the moving contact moves between two contacts. One is connected to the moving contact when the relay is off, the other is connected when the relay is on. You can also get SPNO relays in which you only get a contact when the relay is switched on. You really want the SPCO type if you want to build a motor controller.
