  • Interface Board

We are using 4QD Pro 120s at 24v and currently using a Delbots interface but we are looking to change this for something a bit newer and better. We are considering either the programmable interface on Technobots or the DMR-202 from 4QD. Is anyone using a similar setup or does anyone have any opinions on which would be better?

    Interface Board

I use the Technobots interface on my bot it works well and the computer software makes it very easy to set up to get your robot driving just right.

Ive not had any problems with it at all either mechanically or electrically.

Havent had any experience with the DMR-202 so I cant say how this performs.

I must admit the Technobots was running favourite, the computer connection for setup sounded interesting. I think Ill get one of those.

        Thanks

          Interface Board

Hi peeps. I have just got the r4qd interface from technobots and it is a good piece of kit. the only problem i have with mine is, it worked fine staight out of the box but i wanted to program the interface with my rc gear and now it wont work properly. when i load the program and try to save the data it sometimes sais invalid port number yet i know that it is plugged into the correct port. is it just me or is something not configured correctly like the computer, or have i got a duff interface? and now after all that i cant seem to erase everything i have done to get it back to how it was when i first got it.

someone please help me i want to take it for a test spin.

          Cheers Chris.

Chris - what do you mean ?

You say it worked fine straight out of the box, but you wanted to program the interface (with your rc gear?) and now it wont work properly.

... what do you mean when you say program it with your RC gear ?

It sounds like youve never had a computer connected to it, but at the end of your post you mention that you want to get it back to how you first got it ?

If you could explain what youve done in a little more details people might be able to help - at the moment Im confused

ok. you can set up the interface with your rc gear so it is more responsive and to configure the weapon outputs.
it is connected to my computer but it doesnt seem to be saving all of the data to the interface, and now when i go and try and use it, it is all messed up, it wont do what i want it to do. and when i said straight out of the box, i mean on default settings.

Have you tried the reset button on the board. I believe you have to do it when you start to progamme the board it then resets the memory and you should be able to upload your new settings to the board.

The procedure is outlined in the instructions.

                    Oh

Have you tried changing the com port. Up on the top menu if you click on com 1 a menu drops down and you select another port.

Although Ive always used com 1 myself I think it says in the manual that some computers allocate this for internal use and the one on the back of your PC is Com 2.

Im not sure about this idea but Im running out of ideas Im afraid

if you have an older version of windows and logitech mouseware, it can give problems with other software like telebanking or other communication software because it claims the com port and will not release it. It is possible something like that blocks your software.

If this is the case, install the latest mouseware and that problem is solved. of not, good luck.
