A questions that probably most people will know.

On the Roboteq, how do the dual battery inputs work? I assumed it was one per motor but when testing one of Eric's motors (and therefore connecting only one battery) both motors were receiving power. For 24v should I just connect 2 batteries in series and only use one of the battery inputs or will connecting one to each input do that too?

Just making sure before I blow it up...

they are connected inside, I just connect the two reds and two blacks together. http://roboteq.com/files_n_images/files ... 060107.pdf

Connect the two reds and two blacks together? Surely at least one of them has to be connected to a battery.

they both connect to the battery, i think the reason for 2 pairs is just for current handling.

          Re: Roboteq

High currents shouldn't be too much of an issue in Eric
But good to know. Keeps the wiring relatively simplistic too, which made it easier for us to get the robot running today than at any point during which it was using 4QDs.

Right, I think I get what you mean.

To get 24v on 2 x 12v batteries then you have to connect em in series with each other rather than to both connectors on the Roboteq as that will just be in parallel, then just use both sets going into the Roboteq to handle the current better, although I don't see current being an issue in this case. Connecting Eric's batteries in series would give 34Ah, which is probably not required....

Think i can manage that, cheers .

EDIT: Too right Jamie, was even easier than that XXL I'm using. Definitely know which brands i'll be avoiding on future ESC purchases
