hi i am getting to the stage where i am wiring up my robot and i have a few questions

1 where do i attach the led on to the speed controler (4QD NCC 70)

2 is a blade fuse holder with a peace of steel instead of the fuse make a suitable removable link

3 will a 6 amp battery charger charge up a 24 ampere sealed lead acid battery without blowing it or the battery up

4 is an on/off switch needed as well as the removable link

i know thease arent very challenging questions but i do appreciate the help

Some questions

1. i assume you mean your LED for the external indication light, i dont where you would connect it on a 4QD (although there will be somewhere on it for them, might say in instructions). but it can be connected anywhere in the main power circuit.

2. if its the blade fuse holder in cars etc, then i doubt it can take the current for a heavyweight. the best thing to use is a anderson connector, available from Technobots (but if your in a hurry, as hes closed this week, then they can be got from RS)

3. it will charge it but blowing a battery up will depend on type of battery and charger. what type of charger is it?

As regards Q2.

A Maxi Fuse holder ( Maplins MX15R ) might be ok depending on your amps draw .....fuses are available to a max rating of 100 amps continuous and 200 amps blow.

DONT stick in a bit of steel ...Itll get very hot due to its high resistance.

Some questions

I use a 380V fuseholder and a piece of steel with ductape to insulate the center and a tie-rip as a cord to pull it out.

Works fine. Even with 3 startermotors drawing amps by the bucketloads.

Some questions

Im not keen on the maxi blade fuses. The one I got required a lot of effort to push the fuse in and remove it. On the second attempt, I sheared the legs off the fuse. I could have got a bad one, though.
