  • Wheel chair motors

I'm trying to figure out what are the best motors to go for but I can't decide wether to go for Bosch 400w motors on 260mm wheels at 18v at a 10:1 reduction or try and use wheel chair motors at 36v on the same wheels and reduction

My main worry is that they would be a bit slow when ain't good. I'm having to balance speed and cost here

    Re: Wheel chair motors

An avarage wheelchair motor has 10Amps nominal, a Bosch 400 does 40.

The applications are vastly different. A wheelchair motor needs to be reliable, easy on power -to extend battery life- and just powerfull enough.

A Bosch 400 is meant for less easy on power applications. Car and truck battery ain't that limited...

Don't think anybody uses them nowadays. Why Bosch 400s, why not just use 750s?

we use them in the batter bots and destructo bots for those reasons cheap easy to use and slow enough to be an arena target :P

I though the 400w motors and slightly cheaper than the 750w. the 750's/400's seem to be the best motor on the market in terms of cost/price/efficiency

              Re: Wheel chair motors

The big differences between 750 and 400 are working voltage, torque and weight. A 600 gram difference.

I doubt they will differ a lot in pricetag.
