That evo 9 looks ideal but it comes at a price. What could I do on that which I couldnt do on a 6 Channel Fieldforce since I really only need 6 channel but i would want the channels as joystick movement not as switches. I might just have to resource to using 2 controls. Thanks for all this advice.
In the worst case you can buy 2 Graupner X412 RX TX sets; ‚140 each, so about £220. 2 6 proportinal channels and 2 on/of channels at your service then.
Ive made a plan of my chassis just on a piece of paper. I think I will be using 2 CIM2 motors with tt axles which are from Big cheese site. Does anyone know about these and can anyone give me advice on my plan. (its only rough. I decided to make it 3 wheels becuase its easier and becasue its for off terain all 3 wheels will be in contact with the ground at all times unlike if it was 4 wheel drive. Thanks. http://server5.uploadit.org/files/digitali-222.JPGhttp://server5.uploadit.org/files/digitali-222.JPG http://server5.uploadit.org/files/digitali-111.JPGhttp://server5.uploadit.org/files/digitali-111.JPG
I think youre on the right track, I have one question though - does the wheel at the front steer?
The majority of combat robots turn by differential drive, in other words driving the wheels at different speeds, or opposite directions to turn on the spot. Your front wheel would have to turn round though 90 degrees when turning on the spot otherwise it will just be dragging on the ground. Would it be better to replace this with a castor?
