  • Looking for a decent 3/2 valve

Can anyone out there recommend a decent high pressure 3/2 solenoid valve? Ive looked on Technobots and they only supply 2/2 valves at high pressure. Does anyone know where I can source the same type of valve as that but on 3/2 not 2/2? Im looking to use a 3/2 valve to save having to have a separate valve to exhaust the gas from my ram.

    Thanks, Dave

Ive looked at 3/2s before and I dont think there are any HP valves available.

From what Ive seen Normally Closed valves can operate upto 75Bar, but Normally Open valves operate at a much lower pressure (30-40Bar ish). Maybe this has something to do with why there arent any 3/2s?

I tried for ages to find one, but we ended up making our own in the end.

There is in the industry no need for a lightweight, high flow 3/2 solenoid valve.
The best one I ever encountred with a possible usefullness in RW was a 300 bar low pressure steered ballvalve. total weight 3.6 kg, 1/2 bs,and an acting time of 1sec.(1s improvable)and dimensions to fit a 36V package of batteries. So 2 Burkerts was the easiest , and fastest way to go.Or develope your own system. Chaos II did it with fire extinguishers and low pressure steering.Iron/Axe Awe uses ball valves and low pressure steering.Hammerhead used fire extinguishers and 2 strong servos to steer those.

      Mute uses homegrown valves.
TAN and Project II use a 3/2 Woody valve(and after 1.5 year of active use still going strong)unfortunatly, the Woodys are also low pressure steered.

Flip is at the moment the only robot with direct electrical steered FP 3/2 valve I know of.Availability very rare.No large let trough -1/8 bsp-.

Perhaps you could ask the Ceros team?

Price unknown ... weight is a tad much but they do list an Ali HE30 Bodied option.
