  • Lipos and charging advice please.

Got my 2 lipo batteries delivered from hobbyking a few weeks ago.
Picked up a charger from local model shop. But the plugs on the end are different. Any harm in putting my own on so it’s comparable? Need to hurry I think as they were shipped at30% and need charging to storage level as soon as I can really.
also any other advice regards charging these things? Never had anything to do with lipo charging before.

If there's no adapter that came with the charger you'll have to get one but I think you might get away with making your own adapter. Also when you charge it you'll need to put it in a Li Po bag for safety.

Oki cheers, I though that would be the case.
I mentioned charging bags to the man in the shop and she said he doesn’t bother selling them anymore because they are half the problem because they retain heat. Probably have to order one then.

You will need a lipo bag to charge in at events, so best to get one. Otherwise it’s a metal can.

Hi Matt. You definitely need a lipo bag. Getting knocked about in battle can damage lipos internally & cause them to catch fire when they are recharged. I've competed at 5 live events this year & seen 3 fires. Rather have one & not need it than not have one & need it.

I keep my LiFe batteries in LiPo bags even when inside the robot for added cushioning. Gotta have them if you are running LiPo batteries.
