  • Featherweight spinner

What is the best way to power a featherweight spinner:-chain & sprocket
    -belt & pully
    -gears
    -ext......

Also what is the best type of motor:-brushed
    -brushless

and whichever one it is what is the best/cheapest option and where can I get them online or in the Republic of Ireland

Currently, Brushless is cheaper and easier to aquire, especialy for a spinner. Hobbyking for the budget models, Banggood for cheapo's. Ebay sells the same stuff, but most of the time rebranded.

Belt and pulley is the better option according to me. Team RCC uses timing belt and a timing pulley on the motor, a smooth pulley on the disk.

Chain or direct geardrive gives evey impact directly to the motor.

Some people are working with the brushless outrunner as part of the disk/drum, but that asks for extensive rebuild of the motor, to have a much thicker shaft.
