  • Figuring out mixing

Hi all. We've recently been nearing completion of our first *hopefully* working featherweight (it's best not to ask about the last machine) but are having a lot of issues with mixing. We're using a Turnigy IA-6, nigh identical to the FS-6, and know how to mix using it but don't know what channels we need to mix to get some usable controls! Effectively, we know how to do the act of mixing, but not how to achieve something desirable. Tank style steering wasn't ideal with a throttle and pitch stick layout!

The system has standard, V-tail and elevon mixing built in. Any help would be greatly appreciated, we're really rather lost!

I am actually in the same predicament almost exactly the same time lol I have the DX6i and trying to do mixing using the throttle and rudder. I have managed to get it to go forwards and backwards using the throttle to rudder mix and 100% but cant seem to get it to mix the rudder control to the throttle to make it skid steer. I hope this helps a little for you Henry as i have it half working lol also would appreciate any advice!

    Thanks everyone!

Should just be a case of swapping elev for throttle?

Thanks for the reply! I figured it out with your help and a little googling, it was me being dense and having the controller set to helicopter mode lol. I managed to get a good mix on aileron and elevator using a revers and mix 1 and 2. I'm making a video of my progress so if any one is interested have a look xD
