  • Safety / removable link on esc on switch?

Was tidying up my wiring last night and getting ready to add the fuse / removable link when the bits arrive from Gimson. I am wiring them in as separate XT60 modules so it is nice and easy to look after but I kept looking at the little on/off switch attached to my esc and thinking there must be a better way.

It would be super easy to replace the esc switch with a removable link. Pulling the link would kill the esc and all drive control instantly. Would that be acceptable or does it have to specifically break the battery circuit?

Depends on the ESC. On TZ85's I have always removed the switch and soldered it permanently on

The removeable link HAS to cut the battery power

The little slider switches that come with many ESCs are non too reliable - an impact with a spinner can easily turn them off. I agree with Chris about bypassing them. Even if you keep them, Garry is right about the link cutting all the power to everything in the bot.

That's a shame, but I suppose it is better from a safety point of view.
