  • Sledge hammer thwack bot or dangly things that hit when you spin like Rory's?

Going to build either or as a feather and can't decide...what do you all reckon....

Flailing nuts allow you to keep some momentum when spinning and hitting things, whereas a thwackbot will stop dead or be seriously slowed down on an impact. Think the Nuts style would look and be more fun.

Cool :-) just want to do something a bit different in the feather class

Could a ThwackBot use a thick heavy rubber swing arm? You'd get massive blunt force trauma, a degree of flexibility and huge inertia.

"massive blunt force trauma" "a degree of flexibility"

These do not go together. If it is flexible it is reducing the impulse of the hit (The thing that actually damages).

I was thinking a length of rubber a couple of inches thick with a huge chunk of metal on the end. Be a big wollop when it hit and as long as it was tough enough not to get sliced off it might do interesting things to other spinners without being classed as entanglement.

Oh yeah I never thought about it being classed as a spinner or being done for entanglement. That would really limit the events I can take it to.
