  • Looking for square tube fittings

    Hi again,

Anyone know of a supplier of fittings like these: https://www.keyclampstore.com/male-i...27mm-167m-a-27 and these: https://www.keyclampstore.com/single-swivel-173-a-27 but for square tube?

Never seen that setup for box section.

Industrial use for clamp together square or rectangular swift building systems is mostly done with aluminium X section, also called Bosch Profile.

Unless you need it to slide, I would just cut and drill two flat strips and sandwich the square tubes between them. Much stronger if you can get them welded.

Thanks for your replies. The first fitting was as a quick way to have two hooks on either side of the tube. I may have to weld two plates to the tube as you said overkill and drill a hole for a hook. I think I'll have to make the hinge by using two lengths of tube with one sandwiched in between and a coach bolt with some washers.

Those fittings aren't required they just would make life easier.

Btw do you guys order your steel tube for your chassis online or get it locally?

Both. Just depends on timing and size.
