  • Can I use my receiver to operate a solenoid ??

Hi all I'm new to the forum and I'm a complete novice at this !!

im still in the designing stage at the moment and I'm curious to hot I would operate a solenoid??
i have a 5 port solenoid 24vdc and I'm wondering if I can use my receiver to switch it or would it blow my reciever ??

    Any help is appreciated !'

    many thanks

You need an RC switch or relay such as you can buy from technobots.co.uk or ebay. if you put 24V through the receiver it will blow up.

RC switches are not very common. But the cheapest one I know off, the Turnigy switch is very fragile if it comes to voltage.

The battleswitch you can buy at Technobots or Robot Marketplace is not as cheap.

I don't like either switch to be honest. Getting a decent rc switch for our purposes is harder than it looks.

What is the solenoid controlling? I used the Dimension Engineering 'Battle Relay' in my spinner and even though it worked fine on its own the power being pulled through the system caused it to fuse shut/on on 3 occasions.

Depending on your application you may need something else.
