    My approach would be t make it 4WD by running some timing belts to the front. That will solve your steering issues and it wont add that much weight to the set up.

      Agreed with Alex, coming from experience never put the wheels at the back unless you have crazy powerful drive like S900s or something, or it'll have horrible steering and won't ever go in a straight line.

        Wheels at the back will give you straight line, but difficult to turn, wheels at the front will give you quick turns, but impossible to go in a straight line.

            chuck has wheels at the back and goes dead straight, he also can steer ok propably because he has astro motors (very powerful) , is very quick aswell, same setup as jarvis will have soon, pics on another thread.

              Actually Terry Chuck runs an odd combo of Astroflight 940s and T-Boxes that came from Flow originally. They're at a higher ratio of 11.52:1 and are meant for Titan 550 motors. Flow will soon run Astroflight 940s and TWA40s, which are made for the astros and have a 7.78:1 ratio.

                Nope; that hose is to large and heavy for what you need.
                This is what most people use. or brand, or chinese knock off, both do fine

                    It can be nylon too, it all depends on manufactorer. It's standard pneumatics stuff.

                          A quick question regarding the radio gear. I was looking at the Spektrum DX5e set on the Robochallenge site, and I wonder if that's a good one to go for?
                          I know next to nothing about RC equipment, but I figure I need a system with one channel on a switch (which I would use for the flipper) and this seemed like the most basic one with that feature.

                            Spektrum DX5e with a proper receiver (which Robochallenge will undoubtedly have) is a good setup for robots, including flippers. It is nothing fancy but then you don't really need fancy in combat robotics.
