  • The theory of flippers

After an extensive and exhaustive study of pictures and Youtube, I wanted to run something by you all. Is the theory to have as much explosive push as possible close to the pivot point to maximise "chuck"? Whether this be actuator/co2 and featherweight/heavyweight?

    Dave,

The reason the ram is close to the pivot point is to make the system mechanically inefficient in order to slow down the ram. If the ram moves too quickly the pressure of gas rapidly diminishes on the piston as the valve and piping cannot feed enough gas to keep up the pressure.
