I'm umming and arring about having a go with some Torpedo 800's like these.

I've read all sorts about this drive train set-up and it looks fairly simple to set-up. I mean this with regards to small pinion on the motor, large cog on the drive wheel and so on. I can see the recurring theme of bulkheads either side and an axle between the two, but I'm stumped as to how people get the motor mounting so that they can accurately mesh the drive pinion onto the wheel cog. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for doing this, or is it literally just being precise in your measuring and so on. I've been wondering about a sliding motor mount as per RC Cars. Any info / help appreciated!
