  • Tech check help?

Right, so HardWired Evolution is almost complete and it's only just dawned on me for whatever reason that it'll have to pass a technical check before it's allowed to fight. What does this check involve? I've taken almost all the precautions the rules state (still need to get that removable link put in, but I can't get my hands on any deans connectors quickly enough, so I'm looking into alternatives if there are any)

I have a LiPo battery in there, going to put that in a 2mm-ish box to protect it if necessary (otherwise it'd be mounted to the 3mm aluminium baseplate) but everything failsafes still, there's no weapons yet so they're safe too...

Would rather be safe than sorry in case I run into issues I hadn't forseen in the tech check at all!

Should mention as well, the aluminium's only temporary until I can get this steel chassis made for it, should be about 5mm minimum, this setup'll only be for Robot Wars/Robots Live events since there's a bit less spinney death in those competitions...

The check just involves a trained tech checker going over your robot to ensure it conforms to the rules and regs. If you can go through this sheet (http://www.fightingrobots.co.uk/docu...heck-sheet.pdf) and pass all the relevant critieria, it should be fine. Unless you've majorly deviated from or just ignored the rules, you should pass with no problems. If there are any problems, they're likely to be minor ones that can be rectified there and then.

Just to make sure, the most important ones tend to be failsafes, a cradle, sharp edge protection and locking pins. Lipos (type, suitability, fuse, mounting, charging equipment) will also be heavily scrutinised so just make sure that's all in check and it'll be grand

Can you use a couple of planks of wood for a cradle?
