Mixing on a pistol-grip style controller?

Looking at new control methods for HardWired REvolution, was looking at this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Spektrum-D...item20d8a0f7fb for a new transmitter/receiver combo - would this suffice for a featherweight and if so, how would I mix it so that it'd work with tank-type steering? Would assume turning the wheel left/right would make the robot turn on the spot, then the trigger would make both go forward - I've seen Original Sin in the US controlled in such a way but I haven't a clue how to do it. If anyone can help, that'd be brilliant! Thanks in advance!

i use the dx3e on scruffy and to get it to mix i just have to used a v tail mixer, but from the spec that 1 might have it on its software, ive been looking into getting 1 myself

also a big bonus i found is that you can tweak the steering so it doesn't turn as fast

That sounds good, I think I know where I can get one locally, if so I'll go and see if it has the tail mixing all in with it! Glad to hear this sort of setup'll work though, dual sticks just doesn't work for me!

lol yeh i fine these fare easier to use to, only downside is less channels for price

also the 1 you were looking at can bind with 20 receivers, if i get 1 im gonna use it to run a HW, FW and my BW

It does not V-tail mix, I've checked. It has advanced break and steer mixing, but nothing tank mode or Vtail or delta.

That's a good thing then Plargen, can use it across all my machines! Also, you said you used a similar one on Scruffy, on the third (lifter) channel is there a forward and reverse control for it? Thinking of putting an actuator in HardWired Evolution and using this type of control on that too - REvolution has a spinning disc so one way speed control is fine for that one!

the dx3e has the option of forward/stop/reverse and forward/reverse and a sort of gradual in both directions, but the 1 you were looking at i believe is just an on/off push button

Ah, I see. Might get another forward/reverse switch linked up to it then and get an actuator put in HardWired! (Or a completely separate control system alongside, was looking at putting a couple of pedals up to a transmitter to see how that'd work out)
