  • Batteries for feather gold motors

Does anyone still use these motors? If not can you cast your minds back to when you did and suggest me some good batteries? Currently got 2x 12v 4.2ah sla's but no idea if these are really suitable (as I never got the gearing properly sorted).

    Cheers, James.

I used various batteries, but the best ones I used with the golds were 3 x 8.4v 4.2ah nimhs. But these days a lipo pack would be better, 6s.

What speedo are you using? What gearratio/wheelsize? Are there other things powered by the battery? All questions on things that influence amperes drawn.

Let say, with 12mph endspeed you can do the task with 6S 3000mAh 30C LiPo.

Hi, using the electronise speed controler, but cant remember which one from memory...
        Wheels are about 125mm diameter.
No, for now at least this will be the only thing running off the battery.
        Many thanks

6S 2500 mAh will do the task, unless you have a very inefficient gearing.
Maybe that you can get away with 2200 mAh.
We can in Hannibalito 4. That uses a set of Gimson GR01's and 170mm wheel controlled by a Scorpion XL Ilyama version, and the battery is a 3S 2200mAh. Never pulled out more than 1400mAh in a full fight. Typical it is 700-800 mAh.
