been thinking about making a clusterbot and i cant find any info in the rules

im mainly wandering at the moment if the have to go in and out of the arena as 1 bot or can drive in separately

I think that they have to enter the arena together.

Would like to see a modern clusterbot over here! One concern: with flippers as powerful as they are, and full-weight robots being flung around quite easily, such a light robot would surely go flying! Saying that, Batterbot didn't fare too badly (armour issues aside).

I think that you can just attach the robots with wire or string at the beginning of the battle.

ok well i have a couple of ideas for connecting them together but will probably leave it till there mostly finished still got 1 robot to repair 2 to finish and 2 others to build so lots to do

My main concern with clusterbots is that if one half is eliminated, then the whole thing is gone. Which would probably hamper any attempts at a cluster being competitive.

My fw clusterbot double trouble are different weights. If the lighter half got eliminated I would carry one as over 50% was still working. Whether this was how the rules were or wot Eo's let me do at the time I don't know. What the current rules are I'm unsure.
I think it was kenny who had a powerful flipper and he made one half of mine bounce of robochallenges roof!
Unless you have access to titanium, machining, skills in this area etc..... It is very difficult to build something in this weight that is competitive let alone have an effective weapon. With the evolvement of robots my clusterbot can still withstand damage but a hit off a "todays spinner" would send it flying now!
Each half of mine were held together by a pin that I would just pull out by a servo.

So now if one part of it gets eliminated the whole thing is out.
