  • Show us your toolboxes!

As above! Show us all the stuff it takes to get you through a weekend at the champs!

We need gritty details on tools, boxes, what you carry, how much of it all is there and so on! Which power tools do you take?

When your at home where does it all live? More pictures the better!

If my shed gets broken into and all my tools stolen, I'll know where to look first

This is what our junk looked like after the first trip we made, with Tormenta 1 (2012).

Not all of that went into the venue with us, but a good deal of it did!

The same stuff spread across a table at Yeovil 2012.

Don't have any pics of what we take into events now, but it is considerably reduced. It all goes on a folding hand truck type thing, robot included. Essentially a box of tools, a slightly larger box of spare parts, and the only power tool we take is a cordless drill to make getting in and out of the machine faster.

Lol I love all the piles of stuff!

I end up everywhere fixing all sorts so this is my stuff. All folds down into the bag below. I have power tools in the garage to chuck in the top if needs be but this is pretty much all I ever use.

Whilst I took a lot of gear with me to cope for any eventuality, the only tools I used at my last 2 events were a set of Allen Keys, 2 x 10mm spanners and my all-purpose flathead screwdriver. I carry things like tin snips, mole grips, hacksaw, different screwdrivers, adjustable spanners, multimeter, soldering iron, and obviously my charging equipment. All of which fits comfortably in 1 toolbox.

EDIT: Oh, and a hammer .

I always seem to bring far too much with me- like 2 large 'suitcase like' toolboxes to be prepared for absolutely anything. Every time I realise its a waste of time and just makes it harder to find things!! I think once you have a machine which you know works well you don't need many tools, but I always show up with a new untested creation so never know what may need doing!

Will post a pic of our 'jigsaw packed' boot once we've packed for Widnes.

And on the subject of adjustable spanners, do you find they're hard to get into tight spaces? Most of the weight in my tool bag is 2 full sets of spanners. I've tried to replace them a few times with some varying sizes of adjustables but can't get them into the back of computers, engine bays etc the same and end up reverting back to a proper set of spanners.

Thankfully there is enough space where I need to use it, so it never bothers me.
