Thinking of buying a Sabertooth 2x25a for a project, when asking around at GSL people were saying they kept breaking? Would anyone recomend these?

That leaves a few options, Mr Cryptic...Originally posted by webby View PostThe robot will weigh around 100kg but is
 Not a heavyweight.

 1) it's a house bot
 2) it's a walker
 3) you're entering superheavyweights somewhere, despite being under weight
 or 4) it's non combat

Gary is trying to help you, but the question is what are you trying to achieve with the motor? What kind of strain will it be under, and what kind of performance are you looking for?Last edited by Bacon Wizard; 27 April 2013, 23:58.

I'm assuming this will be the drive for what used to be the Robo Challenge house-bot?
I've never used a Sabretooth but have heard mixed reviews (although their customer service is excellent); I would tend to opt for a Scorpion XL/XXL, they seem to be a bit more robust for robot combat applications.

BUT, yeah don't use either for wheelchair motors. Get some heavier duty controllers. BotBitz 85s/self-programmed Turnigy 85s, as Gary suggested, are pretty sturdy and low-cost for the size of application.
