Would every one be comfortable with me removing a cell from my LiPo? As the voltage is to high, and I can't afford another one? It should be a simple procedure, and I will try to protect the cells well. And it well be tested thoroughly after? And I will try to rap it in heat shrink? Would every one be ok with this? As I know there more risky than other battery's so people may be uncomfortable standing next to a tampered with lipo, so may not want it done?

Re: LiPo cells
Check to make it official but I don't think many people would even try.
One wrong move and you haven't got a battery but an incendiary device.
Not to mention you could give yourself some toasted fingers if you accidentally touched 2 contacts. I put 5mm deep holes on my thumb and index finger with a pair of 1.5V NiMHs when I was building my first ant... stung like a (insert appropriate word here) for 2 months.

Re: LiPo cells
Also there not put together as easy as Nicads etc... The cell tabs are crimped together with a special machine, not soldered... And I think the cables that are soldered onto the tabs are held on with solder that melts at a higher temperature then normal... So hard to remove.

Re: LiPo cells
25-30 quid will get you a perfectly suitable new 4s LiPo, and you get to keep the current one for a machine that will take 5s.
Or as Mario said, as long as the battery has had a healthy charge life you should be able to sell it and cover the bulk of the cost of a new one, if not cover it entirely.

Re: LiPo cells
ahh right, well ill have to try and find some money soon, as im going away for a bit (sadly mean im missing the champs) and if i order the lipos when i get back they may not arrive in time for an event I plan to go to, and i would bother butchering my Lipo, shame its not like NiCd/NiMhs as that would be an easy fix!
