So my main question is.
How do you control an axe?
Can you limit the rpm of a motor with something like a audrino controller or do you just have to have very good reflexes.
Thanks
I'll be using a rick maas axe controller which you can set the time period voltage is applied to the motor and therefore you don't need micro switches etc
bit of simple maths and testing you'll get the right time period
So i am still interested in making an axebot and am still reaserching how to do it.
So my questions are
If I use an adruino uno (i think this is the right one)http://www.technobotsonline.com/ardu...-board-r3.html
can I plug the reciever into the arduino and use it as a switch to turn the botbitz on and off.
Does anyone have a diagram like this?
Is programming really hard?
Does it matter that this board dosnt take many amps?
Yes it can be used as a switch with the right programming. Although if you just want to turn the axe on and off and into reverse there are simpler alternatives.
But like I said on the other thread if you learn to program (not too difficult if you buy a good starter kit) then you could have many fancy features, including having it run on a timer so it turns on for a certain amount of time then goes into reverse then stops.
I'm currently designing my axe at the moment, and I'll be creating a Pic to work end stops. In that, I will probably add a max length of time that power can be applied (eg. 0.5 seconds) as I'm going to be doubling the recommended voltage to the Mag motor and don't want to burn it out.
This should work with any ESC as it would go between the RX and the ESC signal cable. Depending on how long it will take you to build your robot I may have it finished intime.
