Best ESC upgrades

Been looking around for some new ESC's and in not sure what to go for as im only using 2 drill motors right now on 18v. Looking to get better esc's with a view of speed 900 upgrade

Looked at botbitz, victors, sabtertooth and scorpion and know they are all tried and tested, but want to see what peoples preferences are

Botbitz 85a all the way. Very tough, amazing customer support and best value for money.

Admittedly haven't used anything else (so why am I here?) but thus far we see no reason at all to move away from Botbitz for our future endeavors.

XXL Ilyama version, as long you don't go over 4S Lipo, otherwise the TZ85 from BotBitz.

Scorpion XXL V2 , use one in cobalt and its brilliant on 4s

Surprised to hear the Scorpion has such a low voltage rating, never realised that.

Considering upgrading the ESCs in Bitza but we run a 6s.

The voltage rating of a Scorpion XXL is 6S+. But the problem is in the current limiting. A speed 900 @6S does take 45A+ in acceleration or fast forward/backward.
And the speedo takes a tiny amount of time to reset the current limiting.

The above is why I went to Victors, much higher current limiting so I can dump as much as I need into my 900's. The Botbitz 85a may well do the trick, but I've yet to have any issues with my victors.

Im leading to either the botbitz or the scorpion I think. The sabertooth seem to unreliable from seeing experiences and the victors are quite expensive for a pair

Yeh the sabertooths are a little structurally weaker than the other controlers which lets them down, if shock mounted and covered to protect them from impacts there fine, it's just inconvenient. So I probably would avoid them as their high maintainance. I'm soon to be testing mine under harder electrical conditions, so it should really test their current limiting. Although I have little faith in what im going to do to them. We'll see

can shock mount them easy enough and a little box aint all that much work but seems you can do better now for near the same money, especially with botbitz being used more

yeah i know, the lower end control is brilliant on the sabertooths, same with some of the other more expensive ones, i just dont think the botbitz ones have any where near as much as control as the other ones

They both have their points but in most situations, especially in the larger arenas low end aint really what you use

The sabertooth has the advantage of being a duel so compact but it will need modification
