Have you set the dip switches correctly? Is the battery plugged in the right way round?

I don't know, but is the RX/TX brand new?

If so, binding could be the issue.

Plug an old servo into rx with batt of course and see what happens?

Excellent suggestion when testing. Keep a simple servo around specifically to rule out radio problems.

I will take a photo of the set up. and get my meter out

                I have no servos
I have paired the TX RX again

Re: Problems with speedcontroller set up

from here it looks like the leads going into the rx are plugged in upside down. the orange signal wire usually goes towards the middle of the rx

Maybe try moving/inverting the servo leads around on the rx, see if its maybe in the wrong channel. Other obvious one, made sure the battery is charged?

I agree with Will, i think the servo leads are plugged in the wrong way up.

But then i don't think the bec wouldn't be powering the receiver so the receiver light wouldn't be on

The receiver can still get power, I accidentally had a plugin upside down a while back and it still lit up.

That is correct even upside down the RX would get power. the plus wire is in the middle and signal will act as a minus while testing for signal.
