just wandering which ones will allow the speed controller BEC to reach the receiver as the ones im using dont seem to let the power get the the receiver

    Re: v tail mixers

I have one of those and although I haven't had BEC issues it did give me failsafing issues.

lol that's odd cos my failsafes seem to work fine

Haha, why is it such a mystery!?

What if you bypass the v-tail mixer? Although it may need power to work. Alternatively you could have a dedicated battery pack for you Rx.

          Re: v tail mixers

i just tested it again and it seems to be working but it originally didn't want to when i tested it before but if i put it going forward and the reverse suddenly the power to the receiver cuts out but it works fine if i use a receiver battery

            Re: v tail mixers

Interesting, I was having an issue where there was a massive delay between fwd and rev, I wonder if what's happening is the Rx is cutting out?

I have since bought a GWS mixer, so I'll let you know how I get on.

              Re: v tail mixers

i thinking there isn't enough power available from the battery so it cuts the bec power so i either need a lipo battery or i need to use a battery for the receiver and put a switch in somewhere

                Re: v tail mixers

i have just thought of something else that might work if i fit a capacitor in it will store some charge and then when it cuts the power it might last long enough till the main power comes back

the cap did improve it a bit i think the uf rating was to low or i need to try it on the rx side of the bec

                    Re: v tail mixers

I'd start by eliminating what components it could be.
The ESCs could have unreliable BECs, try running without the v-tail, then with a seperate battery pack, etc....

Those el-cheapo v-tail mixers also have very long leads, could be shear distance of the thin wiring.

                      Re: v tail mixers

We are using the BEC from one of the 85a Botbitz ESCs, powering a R6M receiver (one that comes with the Planet 5 set) through a v-tail mixer (this one) without any problems at all. Failsafes perfectly and doesn't have any fwd/rev delay issues.
