What's best size/material of pneumatic tube to use? I've seen nylon 12x10mm tubing and
Polyuretha€‹ne 12x8mm tubing on ebay - my system will be 1/2 throughout so I'll use 12mm tube.

For low pressure only I'm afraid, but the 12*10 nylon sounds best. Albeit a bit stiff.

Yes the system is a Low press one. Apart from the difference in diameters, the polyurethane was advertised as being more flexible, probably the larger diameter of nylon tube outweighs the better flexibility of PU then.

Depends how much space you have. With the right push-locks the stiffness of the nylon hosing ain't a problem.
But you want to avoid 90° corners as much as you can. Smooth curves are the key.
