  • Featherweights + New Spinner regulations...

I've heard that spinners are now banned in most arenas from most arenas due to safety constraints with the roofs or something - does this still apply to Hypno-Disc type spinners on Featherweights, or are they still alright?

    Thanks in advance...

At the moment, in the UK, FW spinners can only be run at RoboChallenge events. They can also be used at the MMM events in Germany.

By FW spinners, every type of spinner is meant, including Hypno-disc style ones.

There are 3 main event organisers in the UK, Robots Live, Roaming Robots and RoboChallenge.
RR and RL are Heavyweight orientated, although do run some Featherweight shows. Neither of these events can run spinners of any sort.

RoboChallenge are FW centric and have a Full-Cobbat rated arena, and so can run spinners.

On the continent there are several other groups of roboteers most of which also run Full Combat, but in smaller weight classes. Notably Mad Metal Machines in Germany (September time I believe) and another in Holland I forget the name of.....
On the continent RaptorWeights (6kgs) are popular as well as FWs.

BeetleWeights (1.36kgs) are starting to gain momentum in this country and already prove popular in the US.

Dutchrobotgames tries to have at least four feather events in a year, last one was in Antwerpen. At the moment we are working on a mobile Full combat Feather weight Arena.
